Wonderful downtown hotel

This place was great! Very charming, comfortable, clean, luxurious. The room was surprisingly large. The only negatives were the construction across the street. It was pretty loud but I loved the room so much that I didn't care, and parking. There is only street parking in the area and it is metered until 10PM and free on Sunday. There is valet but that is $33. All in all you can't beat this for the location and the charm.

Great Value

The Henley Park is a quiet, boutique hotel. It is very close to the convention center. For Mall activities, it requires a walk or cab ride. This is not bad, but does take time and weather may be a factor. The rooms are relatively small, immacuate, quiet, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are staying in the immediate vacinity.

Unbeatable location for the price.

This is a beautifully maintained hotel on the registry of Historic American Hotels. The staff is exceptionally curteous and helpful and the location worked well for my vacation agenda. I was in DC to see the museums and sites. A great value.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

I like many visitors was there to take advantage of the museums of the Smithsonian. These are a short drive from the hotel and since museum entrance is free, reasonable taxi costs were very justifiable.

Quiet and comfortable

Enjoyed my two day stay at the Henley Park; staff were generally helpful, the room was quiet and comfortable (pity the window looked on to the wall of an office block though!), and HP is a pretty good place to explore Washington from. I didn't eat in the hotel as it was a bit pricey, but there are eating places about ten minutes walk away in Chinatown.

A Peaceful Place

This was one of the rare places where the room temperature was on target from the start! I had a quiet stay. The location is great for drivers....but distances are long for pedestrians/walkers. My room was very clean and I really enjoyed my stay at this historic hotel. The only thing less than perfect was rather ordinary desk staff in the course of my very short stay -- not particularly warm or welcoming (but of course I don't know their circumstances or perhaps long work hours). Still I highly recommend the Henley Park for your DC visit.

It would have been nice to have some dinning and breakfast recomendations for local eateries. These where offered as searches from the internet, which is different from acutal recomendations.
