Home fron home

The Henley Park is a great friendly hotel. It has that English country house feel and even does afternoon teas. Great location only 25 mins walk from all the monuments/museums. Great staff with a lovely bar serving affordable bar snacks. Did not use the restaurant. Would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again.

Head to the Chinatown/Downtown area at night to eat as the restaurants near the monuments etc. are very pricey.

Excellent Stay

I heard some reviews about the construction noise AFTER I booked and I immediately bought earplugs because I was adamant about not letting some noise ruin my stay. Fortunately the staff was kind enough to put us in a room away from the main street. Although there wasn't a view, I was in blissful silence for 4 straight nights. Wonderful! Location of the hotel is superb, just a 15 minute walk to the National Mall and plenty of opportunities to just hail a cab if you aren't up for walking. The staff (May and Cuong) you are what made our trip fantastic, Can't thank you enough!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a refrigerator in the room, so we stocked up on grocery items at the Safeway on L Street. Only time we ate out was dinners at the hotel (which is phenomenal, try the tenderloin or the 3 course sampler).

Historic feel

Personal attention was great and the hotel is beautiful with old world look and feel. Very clean. Only problem was with the air condition. Most of the time it did not work so it was very warm at a warm time of year. No mention of it from staff or offer to discount.

Charming and convenient without the Cost

I was there with a group that stayed at Marriot Metro Center for hundreds more. I had a huge suite with great bed and even a wet bar (although all I made was coffee there). The hotel is "historic" but very well maintained. It was close to the Verizon Center, Metro Center and the White House was less than a mile away.

Great Experience

Over all the experience was great, the hotel was beautiful, rooms were extremely comfortable and staff was courteous. Although the food was delicious at the restaurant it was very pricy, so if you are looking for a quick bite to eat I recommend exploring around town elsewhere. If you dont mind spending the money, both the dinner and breakfast were ok and the waitstaff was polite. The room service was also very expensive even just for toast and tea. As an example, breakfast of a waffle and toast cost $30 at the restaurant (not room service).

Great Place!

Stayed at the hotel for a concert at Verizon Center. We were able to walk to the venue in less than 15 minutes. Hotel restaurant and bar served great food and drinks but just a bit over-priced. Would have appreciated vending machines.

Lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, and a good location. About 15-20 minutes walk from the Mall, and about 7 minutes to the Metro. Must be one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've encountered, with lovely furniture and bedding. I ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and had good meals each time. My only complaint - and I hate to say this for such a nice place - is that my room was right next to the elevator and I could hear every word people said as they waited for it. Also, I could hear through the walls to the neighboring bathroom some. Other than that, it was really super.

Convenient quiet hotel

The staff was very friendly. The rooms are not very big, but not small either. Overall, you get a lot for the price.

Romantic getaway

We had a misunderstanding between orbitz and the hotel concerning who was responsible for our military discount. The hotel gave us an upgrade room in place of the discount as they said it was the responsibility of orbitz as they are a third party.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the hop on/hop off double decker bus service as it has frequent stops at all attractions and is less money that the tours. You can stay as long as you want at each stop and don't need to watch the clock for the tour bus which doesn't allow enough time at each location.

Nice hotel

Room is small but nice size bathroom but didn't spend much time in room. Tourist attraction where all within walking distance. Cheaper parking on 9th street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed Rosa Mexicana for dinner. We felt safe walking anywhere at night. Very enjoyable trip. Plan to come back again to check out tourist attractions that we didn't have time to see. Highly recommend checking out Old Postal Office Tower.
