Good Location at Relatively Low Cost
This hotel is in a very good location within DC, just a block and a half away from a metro stop and a few blocks away from the White House. Compared to the prices of all the hotels around it, the price at the Harrington is very low. The rooms are very small, but they are clean. I would definitely stay here again!

We knew going in that this was not going to be the best hotel we had ever stayed in so we were prepared. The room was almost comical, but comfortable enough, especially since we weren't in it very much. The staff was friendly, some more than others, but there were a few details that were unfortunate. First, our bathtub felt like a waterbed with the constant shifting of the water under it. Second, we had to be on guard in the shower for spikes in temperature. It was nice to have a little kitchenette in our room when we needed a second location with a sink. The location could not be any better though and that made this hotel more than worth the price paid. We would probably stay here again.

Location is great - everything else, not so much
I stayed at the Hotel Harrington for three nights. It is in a great location and is clean but leaves much to be desired. Pros: * Very close to the National Mall, museums, and Capitol Building - 5 blocks to the Mall, 20 blocks to the Capitol * Very close to Metro Center stop (2 blocks) * Many restaurants within walking distance * Small refrigerator in room * Towels and bed were clean * Electronic (key card) door locks Cons: * Bathroom in need of remodeling - tiles outdated and cracking * Shower water was not hot * 20" CRT (non-HD) television * No extra electrical outlets in room (had to unplug refrigerator to plugin laptop) * No Internet access * Room is very small

A downtown gem!
This hotel may be old, but it is one of the best finds in DC---location could not be better. Metro, Visitor Center, Ford's Theatre within 2 blocks. Lots of restaurants. Clean as a whistle--friendly staff--and a bargain in cost. I would stay here again--I have already recommended it to several people.

Perfect location!
I was in DC for a professional conferences at a very expensive hotel that filled up very quickly, The Harrington Hotel was the perfect solution. It has a modest interior, old but clean. Very close to my conference, in a hopping area with lots of fun restaurants and a short walk to major attractions, it was a great deal.

I loved dinner at Oya, on 9th St. Great ambiance and very well prepared, well presented fresh food.

Harrington Hotel Great Location
The Harrington is in a great location for seeing the sites. Metro Central is only a couple of blocks away. We like the fact that the Hard Rock Cafe is only a couple of blocks from the hotel. Across from the Hard Rock is the Waffle House. It does not look like much on the outside, but the breakfast was good and the place was packed. Also a good place to eat breakfast is the Corner Cafe on 14th. The room was clean and the beds were fine. We wished that the bathroom had a larger sink area, but on the good side the shower pressure, etc. was excellent. We decided that when we return in a year or so that we will stay at the Harrington again.
