Grand Hyatt Washington

Hyatt has a level of quality that I've come to expect and this was no less than what I would expect from their franchise. The one aspect of the hotel though is that the interior rooms look into the open center of the hotel which for some might limit some privacy.

It was as always a great experience. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. One of my favorite places to stay!

Found the staff at Grand Hyatt to be pleasant and helpful from check-in to making suggestions for restaurants to baggage check, taxi, etc... I would rate the cleanliness of hotel to 9 out of 10. TV Remote in room needed some cleaning. No washcloths left in room on second day after cleaning. Deli was reasonable and had friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Gift shop staff were helpful and friendly as well. Metro Center is right at hotel and you do not have to leave the building to enter. Makes traveling around D.C. easy for those without transportation. Would be great if hotel offered free internet and use of fitness facility without charge. Hotel is within walking distance of Museum of American Art, Macys, and Chinatown (lots of restaurants, movie, shopping) White house is a manageable walk from hotel.

I am very pleased with the service of the hotel. The room was clean. However, better to take with the view to the street.

Paid a good rate ($100/night) and very satisfied. The hotel is under a multi year renovation. Nothing so drastic to keep one from sleeping, but you shouldn't expect the same polish as other Hyatt properties. The CityCenterDC development project is underway across the street. It's currently the largest construction site in DC. My room was at the corner of the hotel nearest the site and didn't find it to be too loud. Great staff, convienently located, will be a stunning hotel in a few years once the dust settles.

The 3 stars for room comfort are due to the fact that I was in a room with a communicating door to the room next door: the neighbors talked really loud, and I could hear them past 10pm. Cure lounge/restaurant downstairs was excellent, with lots of locally-sourced ingredients for a good dinner. The Starbucks-and-deli pairing downstairs made it easy to get a full breakfast (from the deli) with my favorite Starbucks fancy drink. The room was spacious, the furnishings were pretty new and clean, only the rug had a few spots of staining or wear.

Right on top of the Metro Central station, so you can get anywhere you want to in the DC area easily and quickly. Walking distance from most museums and monuments -- especially the White House. This consierge floor experience was good, but a bit too much of the family experience for what I wanted. Breakfast is continental. Hors d'oeuvres could be an easy meal in themselves.

I paid $300 per night for 2 days in early June for a conference. Good location and upon entering well lit and classy. Staff was friendly and conference rooms were good. Bed was comfy. Bad things: 8th floor outside room had loud A/c fan noise. Glass walls are not well insulated. Heavy noise from vehicles outside and had trouble sleeping. 10$ charge for gym per day and for reason they are rationing towels. Was incorrectly invoiced for 89$ dinner that never had - friendly staff corrected it during check out.

I have stayed before and it is one of the finer hotels in the DC area. The service is great.
