Upscale hotel for business or pleasure in the heart of DC
Located in DC's hip Penn quarter, the Grand Hyatt Washington is an elegant option for both business and leisure travelers. Five excellent restaurants and bars offer guests a host of dining options. A full-service fitness center and sauna, pool and steam rooms are onsite, and massage therapy and personal trainers are available. There is also a game room and dance floor in the Grand Slam Café, as well as two gift shops, a florist, on-site laundry, dry cleaning and a valet service. Grand Hyatt Washington is within walking distance of the Smithsonian Institution (including the National Museum of Natural History) and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Some staffs are not friendly
The location, amenities and the room were great. But the some of the hotel staffs are not friendly.

Convenient to Washington Hospital Center
Very nice hotel. Excellent price. Beautiful room. Very clean and comfortable. Restaurant had excellent food but was a bit pricey. I guess the room price made up for the food price.

Exceptional Surprise
This was an exceptional last minute surprise. We needed a room when visiting our daughter at school in D.C. We booked on a Saturday afternoon for that Saturday night stay. It cost only $79. It was a very good Hyatt property. The staff was attentive and helpful. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable but not outstanding. The location was great and within three blocks of Chinatown, near entertainment, and great restaurants on many corners which we took advantage of. Walk to attractions and convention center. The only drawback was that the noise could be heard from the room next door through the adjoining suite doors. Valet parking was full. The public parking across the street costs $12 but without in/out priviledges (which I needed). I parked on the street overnight two blocks away with no problem. Overall, a pleasant surprise and an excellent value.

Wonderful stay and great hospitality.
this hotel was perfect do to location. was down in d.c. to visit son and nephew and the h street location was convenient. was very happy with the first class customer service and friendliness.

Excellent Vacation
I had an excellent time while staying at the Hyatt. The hotel is in a wonderful location but the only downfall is trying to find parking if you decide to drive. Overall this hotel is a wonderful place for a family vacation.

Washington DC
My sister and I stayed here. It was the perfect place for two women. The Hyatt has its own haulway that leads directly to the Metro. The hotel was wonderful and the location is within walking distance to the White House, Fords Theater and the house where Lincoln died. Everything else was accessable by the Metro. We flew in to Reagan National Airport and road the Metro straingt to the Hyatt. I recommend it to all.

Get Frommer's "Washington DC 2009" and "StationMasters DC area Metrorail Atlas". Between the two books and the map that comes in Frommer's you will have all you need to find all of the sights.

History Buff
Ab Lincoln experiance
This hotel is super close to the Ford Theater, get there early so you can get your timed ticket the new museum below the theater is really good, and the Peterson House is worth the wait in line. Make sure to check out the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the building is where Lincoln's 2nd inaugural ball was held. Everything else is walking distance but make sure to bring the walking shoes!

"Very nice for the price"
The hotel was very nice, but the lobby pool was being drained and it looked like it needed some updating. The room was very nice and up to date however.
