Carla Franklin Review of The Hamilton
My first concern was the Valet parking. I was not aware of the absence of a parking garage for the hotel. I needed to stay in Maryland on the second night. [...] When I checked out on Saturday morning there was a restaurant charge on my bill. I had not charged anything to my room. It was removed but there was time wasted convincing them of the fraudulent charges. In the future I will not choose this location again. [...]

close to shopping and historical attractions
The building is evidently older with small elevators and narrow hallways. Elevators did not function properly and took a long time to arrive. The room was clean and spacious (2 double beds). Great restaurant attached to the hotel, the food was well prepared. Hotel 2 blocks away from Macy's and other shops, and within walking distance of White House, Smithsonian, etc. I would recommend because the price was reasonable and it was a clean, safe place to stay. Perhaps for a few dollars more I could have upgraded to a newer hotel with more ammenities.

Very nice hotel in DC
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. The only flaw is that you are charged $30 plus tax for overnight parking. This adds up to the cost of the room. If I had not had a car, this would have been the perfect stay.

Near Metro service
The staff were great and helpful-you are 2 blocks from the Metro stop and 1 stop in the Metro to a major transfer point so you can get in a lot of sightseeing and not have to worry about a long walk back to the hotel at the end of the day when using the DC subway system. At night the park and business fronts with overhangs tend to attract street people-nothing dangerous. The hotel serves a complete breakfast from 7-10:30 and there is a Starbucks off the lobby if you want to catch breakfast on the go.

There are a lot of places to dine nearby but since this is considered "downtown" not all of them open on weekends.

Great service and location
The Crowne Plaza Hamilton is about a fifteen minute walk from The Washington Monument and the Mall. Ten minutes from the White House. Very convenient to the major sights! The food in the 14K restaurant was very good I just wish they had a bigger menu. There was a waterstain on the ceiling and the room smelled unpleasant but the decor was very pleasing. The lobby was beautiful!

Single Traveler to D.C.
The grandeur of Washington D.C.
This was my first trip sponsored by Orbitz. Everything was set up and processed perfectly. Just like I expected! The hotel was very clean, staff very accommodating and it was an excellent location. After I completed my tours, I just walked to some of the places...The Ford Theatre, Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian Museums. I could come and go without feeling like a stranger in the town. I thought my room could have been a little cooler at night, but I was so tired from my day of looking at our Capitol City, that I just fell asleep. What would have made my stay more enjoyable was if I had more money to spend!!!!! I wanted to see Mount Vernon, Gettysburg, DC at Night, etc. The Crowne Plaza restaurant had very tasty entrees, amicable and helpful attendants. I had a great time!!!! I would recommend this hotel to other guests. I would also recommend that they book their entire trip through Orbitz. Your calls about the flight, update of the flight information was just the extras that put the "cherry" on top! My itinerary was planned very well and I was able to execute it without any problems whatsoever. It gave me information on how to set-up my return to the Airport, Wow! I can't say enough about the how Orbitz made my trip a sensation and how well it went. It felt as though I had an Travel Agent/Administrative Assistant with me. Thank You!!!!

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
The local transportation is excellent! Take lots of $1 bills though. It's fast and often. The Union Station has some very nice stores for shopping. I especially liked Chicos, White & Black & Heydari. Very nice clothing lines. Also shops like H&M have excellent prices and fashionable attire. The Au Bon Pain shop(not sure if I have the name correct), at the Union Station, was the best place for me to get a snack or breakfast because it carried a variety of foods, reasonably priced, even for those of us dieting.

Great location, good value
I went to DC to participate in the anti-war & occupation rally, March 20, 2010. This hotel is close to the White House, the start of the rally. It's also near Dupont Circle and most of the worthwhile national monuments and museums. I had a nice view of Franklin Park across the street and of the top of the Washington Monument.
