Great location and great price

If you plan on a trip to DC for pleasure or business, need a nice downtown location near a metro, this may be the one for you. I'm in a wheelchair and came to DC for pleasure and enjoyed using the Metro to get to the National Mall for all the memorials and museums. The hotel was nicely decorated and a decent size room for a wheel chair accessible room. The service is great. Greater nicely by everyone and they always try to assist me with doors and luggage since I'm in a wheelchair, even though I don't need it. My only complaint was the wheelchair accessible shower. It's a nice roll in shower but the way they positioned the fold down seat, you were facing away from the shower head. So all the controls were behind me and the shower head would spray my back. Also try the 14k restaurant in the hotel. It was delicious and again, courteous staff was ready to serve you.

reception when we first arrived bad

When we first arrived the staff was rude. We have a turtle top on our suv and they told us they could not park it. Take the top off (not easy) or park it on the street and put coins in the meter. The woman was so rude. Eventually they found a lot for us to park and they said they for pay the parking. They did not.

Centrally Located

The hotel was very nice and centrally located for what we were doing. We were able to walk to the White House, the Mall, the Smithsonian and many memorials. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. I wish I would've done the breakfast and valet parking included. It would've saved me money. There is only valet parking available for about $40 a night. We were able to leave the car parked after checkout until 5pm.

Do the package breakfast and valet parking. It is cheaper than paying for it seperately. The breakfast was great but pricey.

The Hamilton Crowne Plaza

Old, renovated hotel. They had some air conditioning problems in hallways and other common areas for a couple of days and it got pretty hot. Rooms are small, but comfortable. [...] Not enough drawers/storage in rooms and there are long waits for elevators. Staff was curtious.

Great location - Terrible Service

Came to Washington for a business trip and a short visit and this hotel was recommended for the location. It was old, rooms were small, TV faded in and out with few channels. The Internet service crashed on the first day and it was a total disaster. They need to upgrade their infrastructure. Location is not everything.

Good location, friendly service

The hotel location was perfect. It was close to the Metro stop and within 3 blocks of the White House. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of dining and directions to various attractions. Downside - - We had a room with 2 beds, which the hotel listed as queen size. The beds were very small (more like full size), which made sharing them with children very interesting.

Great Weekend Spot

Fiancee and I were passing through DC for the weekend and stayed here. It's a really nice hotel - bar right in the lobby, Starbucks, metro only a block away. The room was beautifully appointed and sparkling clean with a huge flat screen TV & super comfy bed. We couldn't have asked for better.
