Couple in RI
10 minutes from downtown
I booked this hotel for a short sightseeing trip with my hubby. Being budget conscious, hotels in downtown DC were way out of our price range. Courtyard by Marriot at Navy Yard is about a block away from a Metro station, so we were able to jump on the subway and be anywhere in downtown in about 10-15 minutes! Super convenient. The neighborhood is not exactly what we pictured though. Kind of sketchy to be walking through at 11PM, to be honest. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and modern decor on the inside. Parking is $29 a day, and is good until about 1PM the day of checkout. There is no room service. There is a small bistro that serves decent food (breakfast was oatmeal, eggs, microwave bacon, and bottled orange juice) as well as a 24-hour convenience section with snacks, microwave meals, and drinks (soda, water, wine, etc). The gym, pool and hot tub areas are very clean, but are a bit small. Overall, it was an okay pick as we were not in the room for much more than showering and sleeping. But if this is going to be a romantic get away or a family vacation, you might want to find another hotel.

Great location, horrible parking
The hotel and its staff were wonderful for my trip. Literally a block from the Navy Yard metro stop, so it's extremely convenient for getting anywhere on the system. For the sub-100 dollar price I paid, the price was tough to beat for the location. However, I must warn you about parking. The hotel requires "valet" parking. It's anything but valet. The charge is $29/night and requires you to drive to the back of the hotel and down into a parking garage where you must drop your car off to a parking garage attendant. They then park it within eyesight-where you, yourself could have parked it, and return with a key tag. You must scan in and out of the parking garage after they retrieve your car as well. Speaking of retrieval-be ready to wait. They are NOT in any hurry to get your car, and sometimes there are 3+ customers all waiting. This parking makes it extremely inconvenient. In final, if you must have your car multiple times on the trip, I'd steer away from this hotel. If you're going to navigate sites by metro, then it's great

Good location. Walking distance to the Nationals Stadium. Just a few stops on the Metro to National Mall and Airport Downside: not alot of options for dining relatively close.

Great Staff and Nice Rooms
Family trip to DC with two teenage kids. Location was very convenient for Metro but the immediate neighborhood lacks restaurants. Staff was great. Able to give us good guidance on where and how to get food. Important since the food at the hotel seems more geared for corporate (expense account) clients. Would definitely use again on business trip, but might pass for on our next family visit.

good location - close to all touristy places
Very close to all monuments/museums. Starbucks, Subway, Five Guys and CVS are in the adjacent block. The metro station is very close but we were 4 ppl and it was cold and raining so we preferred Cab. Did not spend more than 15$ every time I used a Cab - it was convinient. Parking was 25$ and very cramped. I left the car in the parking thin king it will be tough to drive around and find parking spots close to monuments, but realized it wasnt that bad. Front desk lady was pleasant to talk to. The lady taking care of the kitchen sounded rude, breakfast is expensive at the hotel. Room was comfy - used the coffee machine a lot.
