Contemporary renovated boutique hotel in the heart of Washington DC

Sisters were staying at the bigger hotel, so I booked this one separately. Was very happy - this is a gorgeous smaller hotel, off the busy streets, but very accessible to main Avenues. Full of art deco details, and room was corner beauty on upper floor. Beds were fantastic and firm; kitchenette was fully equipped. Living room/seating area was lovely. I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

sumptuous not pretentious
This was a surprise in the neighborhood. In a period when Congress was in full swing and everything else skyrocketed this was a relative value. Great staff!

Sightseeing and family visit
We chose the Carlyle Hotel based on reviews and price. It was very good and pretty much as described by others. Comfy beds and linens were excellent. Each room has a kitchenette, with microwave, refrigerator,coffeemaker and 2 burner stove-top. (but who wants to cook on vacation??) The carpet wasn't bad but could use updating. I think this is because pets are allowed. No smell in our room, but I saw one or two stains. The location was excellent with easy access to the Metro, and nearby restaurants, bars, and even a grocery store. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again.

Afterhours cafe near Dupont Circle was excellent. We ate both breakfast and lunch there and enjoyed their omlets, and crabcakes.

Hotel located at good neighborhood . Service its very pleasant . Very close to subway about 10 min waking distance or you if you in the mood to walk it will take you about 1/2 hour to get to White House . i would defiantly stay at this hotel for my next trip to Washington

Girls Night Out
Hotel staff was very professional. They answered our request for service immediately. The room was nice, however the carpet is due for an upgrade and the double beds are small, but they were very comfortable. We loved the temperpedic mattresses!
