Just A Quick Overnight Stay

I don't recommend this hotel if you are staying for a long weekend or longer. I stayed one night and that is all I would stay. Shady looking building in a shady area. The rooms were clean but outdated.

Close to ideal D.C. spots

Hotel is within walking distance to capitol hill but only if walking at daylight hours. Hotel staff was friendly but nothing more. The lobby was about the only thing attractive about the hotel style. Rooms were very basic but had everything needed for a one night stay.

Great Location but a little out of date.

We could see the capitol from the room. The room was a little out of date and could use some updating. The computers in the lobby were very slow and the printer didn't work for one of them. Overall you really couldn't ask for much more for the price.

It's very hard to find parking in the city. You're better off paying the money to park in a garage all day and take shuttles.

Terrible Service

I am going to any site I can find to write a review. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Me and my two friends visited for a relaxing July 4th weekend. We were completely unaware that the pool was a "party" pool, and because of our age were treated awful. The front desk was not helpful and at times very rude. We did not feel like welcomed hotel guests. Early one morning someone knocked on our door (when the do not distrub sign was out) and asked if we were leaving that day. We were not scheduled to leave for two more days. The hotel itself was great location and the room was comfortable, beside the cockroach in the bathroom. We will not return because of the awful customer service. Also, our credit card was charged an extra $150.. that we did not spend, we are now working with the bank to have it removed. Customer service claimed they did not charge it, but we have documented proof.

Capitol Skyline

I loved this place! The decor was spectacular, but the staff was even greater! I know we probably drove them crazy with questions about the best way to get somewhere or the best place to find good Italian food, etc. But they were ALWAYS cheerful and helpful! The rooms were comfortable and the pool was the best hotel pool I've EVER experienced! Our last full day there, we never even left the hotel. We hung out by the pool most of the day. We ordered our lunch from our lounge chairs and it was brought right to us! We never even had to get up! I will definitely stay here next year when we come back!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

My one biggest piece of advice would be to map out where you want to go with the hotel as your starting point BEFORE you start your trip. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get to particular places. We should have done that beforehand so that we could spend more time looking at the monuments, etc.
