A recreational getaway in DC

The staff was not very friendly, almost straight up rude at times. Only, [...] was very kind. [...].The rooms are average. However, it is not a disappointment because of the affordable price. The location was fine. Close to the National Mall but far from the entertainment and dining opportunities. Being close to a metro stop compensates for this problem. The movie rental options were very up to date and affordable and provided cheap and relaxed nights after hours of walking in DC.The house keeping was very friendly and kind too.The best part of this hotel was the complimentary wireless provided by the hotel in the rooms. Even though it was not very fast it was good enough. The communal computers and printer were very useful too.

Good, bad and so so

Stayed at hotel for 8 nights. Had a nice view of the Capitol from our room. You can walk to city center, about 8 blocks under train tracks and freeways, but I wouldn't recommend it. Had to use taxi or Metro a lot because of limited shuttle service; i. e., no airport pick up/drop off, only 4 times in a.m. and 4 times in p.m...drop off only to specific sites. No pick ups back to the hotel...you are on your own. Restaurant was breakfast buffet only and routinely ran out of food/drinks. Upon check out we were charged a holding fee of $2.00 a bag until our flight later in the day. Don't count on using the public internet/printer...it never worked for us.

Use the Metro to get just about anywhere in D. C. It's reasonable, convenient and simple to use.

Dated, but good location

Being that it's the closest hotel to Nationals Park I guess I got what I wanted however the hotel was in major need of a renovation.

The hotel has a good location. The price is worthy for a hotel with that location. We also enjoyed the complimentary parking.

Older hotel; but clean

Friendly checkout. 7 out of 10 points. Clean, moderately updated room. 7 out of 10 points. Mattress needs updating. 6 out of 10 points. Good shower/tub/water pressure. 7 out of 10 points. Quick checkout. 7 out of 10 points. Location is four blocks from Navy Yard (Green Line) Metro station and 12 minute walk from the Capitol building. Not the best area of town, but no gunshots ringing out and near a few basic fastfood restaurants (7 out 10 points).

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

At the end of the long day, skip the Metro ride (usually a 30 minute affair). Take a taxi - it'll likely be about 10 bucks (vs. three to five bucks for a couple or family).

good time

it was a nice time, we upgraded to a larger room after being placed in a tiny room next to the elevator. The restaurant was closed so that was a let down, and the location is awkwardly on a highway but it was a nice time overall

not cental and old

I stayed at this hotel because I could not find any other online. The hotel is renowated inside and the rooms are spacious. But the heating was not sufficient. ı told this to reception but they didi nothing. They instantly charged me and + 50 dollar saying a fee of deposit. The surrounding is not safe for night walking but not far to the metro station. Wifi was barely working.

Capitol Skyline Hotel - Wash., D.C.

Good value and relatively convenient to Metro line station "Navy Yard." Developing area, so some nice parts of the neighborhood; some still developing - but am sure that affected the reasonable price. Decent hotel accommodations, including free WiFi, which appears to be unusual in downtown D.C. hotels. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY service!!

Decent hotel close to Capitol Hill

A decent hotel close to government buildings in Southeast D.C. The room was fine, nothing special. WiFi was quite fast. The pool area was nice. The buffet breakfast at $12 was very extensive but it appeared that that was the only option for breakfast. The staff seemed friendly enough.
