fantastic location, great people..

I arrived about 4 hours earlier than my check in as I was there for a large event in DC. I was able to check in early because the rooms were done, cleaned, and ready earlier than normal. The woman at the front desk smiled the whole time and said I could check in early so I didn't have to leave my bags in their locker room. We got in the room and it was a corner view... literally, three blocks from a bunch of decent night clubs, bars. One block from the metro. Awesome location, awesome price, awesome people.

weekend art museum splurge

Best location in DC. Great room, though a little warm. Supurb dessert at the bar - otherwise did not experience the restaurant. Quiet. Easy in. Easy out. I'll return soon, I hope.

Getaway with the Girls

Although it took three tries, we got the room we saw on the website which gave us plenty of room to spread out and relax. Room renovations were recently completed and they said they didn't have the computer updated quite yet. Wonderful service and every amenity we could ask for was provided. Even Lavazza Italian coffee for the coffee maker and it was the kind of coffeemaker that made one or two individual cups at a time. Even real cream! While it was a holiday weekend, we had a hard time finding a place for a light dinner close to the hotel. We did find a pizza shop but other than that it was nice restaurants and a couple chain coffee shops. The restaurant at the hotel was still under renovations at the time but they said they would be finished soon. There was valet parking at the hotel but it was expensive. The doorman did direct us to a garage close by and we paid $8 for two days so that was great although I understand that was because it was a weekend.

good hotel

The location is good, withing walking distance to white house. After we arrived, we walked to see the cherry blossom. But there's no self parking. You have to pay $42 for night parking. And there's no fridge there. I think it's better to have a fridge, free tv channels and free internet.

Great Service, Big Room!

Got together in DC for a girls weekend. Actually had reservations in another hotel, but wanted a bigger room, more centrally located. Our room was HUGE and the service was great. When our neighbors were up late partying, the front desk gave us a new room AND access to the executive club. We did not eat in the hotel, and the lobby was not terribly inviting, but the room was fantastic and we walked or took metro to everything.

great location

The location of the hotel is really great, just behind the white house about 5 minutes walking distance. The disadvantage of the hotel is their parking is not free and the fee is too expensive.

"The best D.C. has to offer"

I stayed at the Capital Hilton for the first time in August of 2009. I have been thinking of their hamburgers ever since. Their burgers are a bit on the pricey side but worth ever penny! On my next trip to D.C. I just knew I had to stay their again. The hotel is only two blocks from the White House and 5 from Dupont Circle, so its proximity to all the city has to offer is ideal. I have stayed at a lot of nice hotels and have found the staff stuffy and pretentious; the staff at the Capital Hilton treats you like family. Whenever I have to travel to D.C. you know where I'll be.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The White House, the National Mall, The Lincoln Memorial, The Smithsonian, The Vietnam and Korean War Memorials are only blocks away...Almost every attraction our Nations Capital has to offer is within a 20 minute walk. More importantly it is only a $15 cab ride from DCA.

Capital Hilton, Washington DC

We (a party of 3 women, two sisters and our sister-in-law) were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, the cleanliness and the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in! The location was also wonderful. What we were not too thrilled about was the other weekend visitors were loud very late at night (well after midnight); the 3:55 am wake up call that was supposed to be at 4:30 (not a person, but some type of machine); and finding a decent cup of coffee (at a reasonable price) nearby was a real challenge---Starbucks doesn't qualify for either of those and even they were not close! It was a good thing we brought our own coffee maker, filter and coffee (only needed to buy cream at CVS, which was a block away)! There is a restaurant in the hotel, but $18.50 for 2 eggs, bacon, toast and juice is unreasonably high (our meal at the Asian restaurant was $16 for each of us, including tax and tip!). The hotel's proximity to two subway stations (different lines) made accessibility to our destinations top-notch; the staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again, and also with our coffee pot!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

We loved the Asian restaurant recommended to us by the staff; a short walk for most travelers requiring no aids (such as a wheelchair, cane or walker), but I've forgotton the name!!! I ordered the Pad Thai Noodle dish, the best one I've ever eaten, and my companions also enjoyed their separate dishes!
