fantastic location, great people..
I arrived about 4 hours earlier than my check in as I was there for a large event in DC. I was able to check in early because the rooms were done, cleaned, and ready earlier than normal. The woman at the front desk smiled the whole time and said I could check in early so I didn't have to leave my bags in their locker room. We got in the room and it was a corner view... literally, three blocks from a bunch of decent night clubs, bars. One block from the metro. Awesome location, awesome price, awesome people.

Not Hilton Quality
This hotel does not meet the Hilton standards. Also, there is only a $20 per day fitness ctr and $15 per day internet fee.

Great
It was a great location. Close to restaurants, metro and sightseeing. Although the hotel is in renovation, you would never know. It was quiet, clean and well staffed. Great massages and a wonderful spa. Would have liked a in-room laptop safe and a small fridge, maybe once it is renovated.

Cosi. A great place for quick healthy, reasonably priced meals. Great priced Squagels (square bagel) for breakfast.

good pick!
When this hotel is refurbished it will be close to perfect. Great staff - they were all friendly and gave good directions and suggestions. We walked to just about everything - National Geographic, the Mall, etc. and had a good value breakfast around the block at Potbelly's and a fabulous seafood dining experience at Kinkead's.

Excellent stay
We stayed for three nights at the Capitol Hilton and it was great. The location is great, close to the White House and other DC highlights. There are a lot of restaurants nearby as well as places to get breakfast or lunch. The room was quite large, with a comfortable sofa, desk and an excellent king size bed. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. In short, it's the perfect place to stay for people who like to visit DC for sightseeing.

Washington Hilton 12/26/09
Yes it is close to the white house, but there were no restaurants open except in the hotels and burger king. $40 charge (that I was not told about) for overnight parking in a hotel you are staying in is ridiculous

Pricey
When i arrived there it was fantastic until i found out about the parking situation, it cost 20$ just to get 2 hours of parking, and the parking outside was very limited and my car got broken into right next to the hotel. Inside the hotel, it didn't have a microwave or a fridge. I was charged 7$ for each phone call i made. When i came in during the day, the housekeeping made my bed, but didn't change the sheets or the towels. Overall i had a better time at a motel than this hotel.
