The best hotel I've ever stayed in. The location was spot on - 1 block from the White House. The room was very presidential.

Good location

We stayed here 3 nights. This hotel is a few blocks from the White House. First night the room was horrible because the heat didn't work properly. They sent the engineer up promptly and he fixed it but by then it was past midnight, so it kind of ruined our day next day. The bed also was not of good quality. Bathroom was 2 feet from the the bed - imagine the rest. They changed us to a better room next day but the bed quality was the same - I guess the entire hotel has the same kind of beds. Luckily we had a sofa bed in the 2nd room which got us through the next couple of nights. The staff was very helpful. Hotel parking is valet parking and expensive - there is public parking within couple of blocks. Also if you ask for your car while check out time - then forget about it - give or take a half hour. Restaurant is okay but expensive - 20 bucks for breakfast buffet. The hotel is not too far from other attractions so the 2 good things are location and great staff. Room tariff was reasonable. Anything in DC is usually very expensive.

good hotel

The location is good, withing walking distance to white house. After we arrived, we walked to see the cherry blossom. But there's no self parking. You have to pay $42 for night parking. And there's no fridge there. I think it's better to have a fridge, free tv channels and free internet.

Week in DC

Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff and good location. Also relatively affordable for downtown DC. I'd recommend the Jr. Suite if you're with family.

Great location,spacious rooms,thin walls

Family vacation to visit the nations' capital. This hotel has a great location - 2 blocks north of White House. Room was very spacious. Small bathroom. The walls of this older hotel must be really thin as police, ambulance and fire sirens woke us each night. People speaking in the hallway could be too easily heard.

Great Room and Ideal Location

We wanted a place centrally located where we could walk to the majority of attractions. Easily walked everywhere we went and took the car out only once. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was top-notch!

Decent Downtown Hotel

I stayed here as the conference was being held here. At $380 per night, I expected more. I was surprised at the lack of restaurant options, especially when their only restaurant was closed. Ate from a limited menu in the lobby bar. Room was nice, but hallway noise far more prominent than others.

NO PARKING GARAGE

No parking garage, only $48 valet parking. Is a very important issue do not get a parking garage in downtown DC because is impossible to find a place saturday night. No toilet paper at room.(solved) Bathroom door did not close.(we did ask for that because we were short of time). Blankets got staples Usually TV's are located in front of bed but in my room was on the side (uncomfortable). Not a good option.

Close to the White Houst

The Hotel was just a few blocks from the White House and in a very safe area. Hotel exceeded my expectations after reading previous comments in reviews. i would stay here again. Beware of the $42 overnight hotel parking fee for vehicles. also bring your air card as the signing on to wireless was another hefty $16 a day. Ha.

Great Service, Big Room!

Got together in DC for a girls weekend. Actually had reservations in another hotel, but wanted a bigger room, more centrally located. Our room was HUGE and the service was great. When our neighbors were up late partying, the front desk gave us a new room AND access to the executive club. We did not eat in the hotel, and the lobby was not terribly inviting, but the room was fantastic and we walked or took metro to everything.
