Great DC holiday

We stayed in the Beacon for 5 nights during a sightseeing vacation. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and general upkeep of the hotel was good. Food in the restaurant was really tasty. One thing lacking would be free wifi access - $12 per day charge if you want it but there is easy access to the business centre to go through online check in etc. Location worked pretty well for us, Dupont Circle, Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations were all within 10 mins walk, plus the Capital Bike Share scheme has a spot literally across the street. Overall a good find and somewhere we'd stay in again.

If in season, definitely worth a trip to a baseball game at the Nationals Stadium. Easy to access on the metro and a great atmosphere.

Unimpressive

I expected the hotel to be nicer considering its location. It's very noisy at night with nightclub it has upstairs playing until midnight. We called down and the manager didn't care. It's a worse than average hotel with bad staff.

Family DC trip

Hotel was ok,furnishings were old but clean and serviceable. The bed was comfortable, bathroom very small. Internet charge was 12$ per night for each room we booked which is ridiculous. No indoor pool for grandchildren at end of day . I have an Escalade that the hotel was unable to park in their garage so I had to park two blocks away and still pay 25$ per night. Room had no mini refrigerator or coffee pot .another issue if u have children as far as drinks are concerned

Washington DC stay

I loved my stay here!! It was a nice hotel and good space. I especially loved the customer service and the convenience of staying 5 minutes away from the White House and the Lincoln Memorial etc. We also got a good deal. Many other hotels cost way more. Overall this nice hotel just could use something extra special to brighten it up.

Great location - Great Hotel

Stayed one night - I could not have been happier - The room was quite large - Staff was very nice - Food at the restaurant was very good - If you are staying at the hotel you get 15% off - I did not have time to explore everything the hotel had to offer, but it was close enough to the metro and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants. I really do not like having to pay for wifi - That would be my only drawback

Renovated but still feels old.

Stayed here for a long weekend and my first impression was okay. As I was walking in with my bags the valet service men were texting on the mobile phones and did not even look up to hold the door - I also had to use the service cart myself as no bell service was offered. As for the room - it was clean but if you have an issue with traffic noise, this wouldn't be the best place for you. The positives are that it is reasonably priced, front desk staff is friendly, the maids were friendly too. It is in a good location as you can walk to many of the main attractions in DC or get a cheap cap fare. FYI - Parking there is $37 a night + 7% tax - you are better off looking for a local lot (there is one about 2 blocks away that is $25 for 24 hours).

Tried to relax midway on a roadtrip.

Used this hotel to relax midway on a roadtrip. Parking was expensive and the rules were not clearly expressed. They tried to charge me for 2.5 days of parking when I parked there for less than 24 hours. They changed it to 1.5 days, but only after I caught the error. Don't park at the hotel, it is $40 per day. If you are there on the weekend then park on the street. It is free. They don't tell you that. Also the first room they gave us didn't have a working heater. We were thankfully upgraded to a suite but found a baby roach. Overall just a bad experience, I couldn't relax.
