Not What Was Promised
We had been to DC before and thought it might be nice to stay in the Capitol Hill area. The hotel is close to Union Station which really was the only selling point left after our stay. The hotel offers no amenities like coffee, in-room refrigerators. They will allow you to buy Fuji water for $4.00 a bottle. Thr hotel is located beside a fire station and a convenience store that does sell coffee and has a deli and liquor store. Prices there were reasonable but the atmosphere was grungy. The hotel informed us,by leaving a flyer in our room, that the rooftop pool would be closed for 2 days maintance but it remained closed for further emergency maintence and yet there was a private function held up there on the 3rd day. This was a little bit infuriating since it was sweltering that day and a nice cool swim would have been appreciated. The staff was invisible except for the people at the front desk area who could care less if you were a customer or not. There are much nicer areas to stay in DC, I would recommend you spend your money in a place that is more convenient and one that appreciates your business.

Room and Customer Service both Stunk
I stayed at the Liaison last week for a work conference. Upon checking in, I noticed the stench of spoiled milk or some sort of other very nasty, very old odor coming from my closet or shower area. I had to go to a conference, so I went to work and later in the afternoon let the staff know of the problem. They were completely unhelpful and refused to allow me to change rooms. The only help they provided was sending an angry looking guy with industrial strength toilet deodorizer up, who replaced the sour milk/body odor stink with what I can only describe as "Wrigley Field Urinal, bottom of the 8th." Adding insult to injury, the manager called me and to help rectify my issue she offered me a free room. Not a refund on one of my previous nights, just a free room for a future stay. AVOID THE LIAISON.

They aren't friendly.
We stayed in dc for a huge birthday/work weekend. However after being discriminated against by the concierge, we will most likely not return. The service was horrible, the staff was always preoccupied.

Very Dissatisfied
Called 3 times to verify reservation. After speaking with 4 people they found my reservation. They verified each aspect of the reservation, such as Late Check-in, smoking room, two queen beds, 2 day stay. When I arrived I was told it would be $45.00 per day to park and that it would be added to bill. Nothing during reservation or confirmation had prepared me for that. I had noticed some hotels mention parking fees but none over $28.00. During check in I was told the entire property was non-smoking. I felt traped. I was late for a concert and had no options. I was so dissappointed I checked out the next day. I was billed $20.00 for two phone calls. I requested to check my luggage and be allowed to enjoy the pool for a few hrs before leaving as I have done this at many hotels before, in fact until this stay, no one had ever said no before. They also list that you can dock your iphone/pod in the alarm clock. That was not true either. [...] I feel cheated and will complain to my credit card. I did not get what was advertised or paid for.

No way to treat guests!
While there were some very nice things about this hotel, the pool, which is purportedly open from 10 am until 10 pm, was closed for three late afternoons and evenings out of the four days of our stay. When we complained, we were told they were, "Between a rock and a hard place"....as their supporters book (the only) pool. After long, hot days of D.C. sightseeing, this is no way to treat paying guests. We suggested an online calendar to notify prospective customers of pool closing dates, or....at the very least..... they should remove the cards in every room which tells of the pool hours. Very disappointing service. Try the Hyatt or the George hotels, in the same area.

The Liason Capital Hill
I really did'nt like the hotel. It use to be a Holiday Inn and they revamped it. The ceilings were low and still had the pop corn ceiling texture. Bad lighting in the hallways and I could touch the ceilings I am 5'-2". The air duct was falling down in our room, and right next door to the fire station. In no way does this live up to a four star hotel. I would rate it a 2-3 star

Traveled out.
Good but not great!
Very upscale hotel, better suited for business travel, small pool with very unusual rules, no carry in drinks allowed, not even bottled water purchased at in house store. Close location to Union Station needed to find places to eat. No breakfast available in hotel or coffee, found this very strange.Never had to wait for a taxi, always ready to go at a moments notice.
