Nice Place to Stay
It was my wife, 8 yr old son and I visiting Lake Compounce from NY and chose to stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were really nice and did their very best to meet my accomodations. The beds were real comfortable, even the pull out sofa was pretty comfortable too. The clean room and service was great. The best part of the stay was the breadfast buffet, mmmmm. Eggs made to order, only if you ask and you can even make your own waffles. Now, the pool and the jacuzzi could've been a little bigger but what are you gonna do.

Good Stay
Location was perfect, room very clean, pool and jacuzzi a treat. Free internet and parking; thank you! Between 9pm-12am,ten to fifteen sirens, either from police, fire or ambulances went by. I was on the 8th floor, but it was loud. Once I actually fell asleep, though, it either stopped or I was too comfortable to hear it. Overall, definitely worth it.

Traveling Waterbury
A bit overpriced
Stayed two nights for an event in Torrington, CT. Room was clean and spacious. The shower head didn't work very well. Though it was a bit expensive for the location and amenities.

When in Waterbury (I don't know why)
Pool Spa was a "hot" tub...no jets!! Entrance/exit routes were confusing. Shopping mall a little more than 1/2 mile with Timex museum on the way...not much else in "downtown" Waterbury. Wifi in lobby only...rooms hardwired Clean rooms that were comfortable but an extra chair or two would have been nice.

Watch for entrance sign...only one way in (there was a back way) when you miss the one entrance while trying to follow the GPS

Stayed there for a wedding that was in the town over. Hotel was easy get to off the highway and was very clean with nice employees. However, the area was scary and sketchy, getting lost in it was easy and not fun.

perfect for the business travelller
Compared to other recent travel, Waterbury was ideal for the business traveler who didn't need all the ameniites of the leasure traveller.

It could have been better
The hotel was older but it served the purpose for visiting family during the holidays. They said the rooms had wireless Internet but everytime I would try to log on from my computer I would get kicked off so I finally gave up and went to the lobby to check my mail. There was wired internet in the room but it was easier to just check mail downstairs. The location was very convenient though to get on and off I-84 or Route 8 and the mall was just down the road a little.
