Nice older type motel
Personal service, friendly staff. The continental breakfast was served on china by a waitress with a view of the Connecticut shore a few feet away. The building is older, but more than acceptable. A very good value for the price. It is a bit off the beaten path, though, and the map associated with the [...]listing was wildly wrong.

Unbeatable location for the price!
The pricing was what grabbed me; then, ocean front, too! Great restaurant adjoining this 28 room "jewel" has a 70 year history around it. If you require a brand new hotel with a national "feel", this isn't it. But if you're looking for comfortable, clean, affordable on the ocean, WOW, this is it!

Great Getaway
The motel rooms with the oceanview are the best definitely. Eventhough, October is not really the best month for the beach, long walks in the sand & listening to the Long Island Sound from the hotel room was really, really relaxing. This was a great getaway spot. We will be back.

A change from all the chains...
Located in a quaint part of town on the beach, it is a little old fashioned but that is part of the charm. The employees were very courteous and helpful and they have a lovely dining room and deck on the ocean side. Our room had a king size bed plus a double and had a lot of room. The television was a little basic but we shouldn't have been watching it anyway when there is a gorgeous beach outside the door. We really felt we were away from the beaten path and really enjoyed our stay.

Great location; nothing really wrong
It has the distinct feel of a family-owned operation. I got in too late (around midnight) for anyone to be at the front desk, but the on-call maid provided me with room key. The room was spacious, but sparse. It may have actually had wireless internet, but nothing in the room provided any clues about how to access it. Nothing fancy; nothing really wrong. But the on-beach location is so terrific, you can't figure on spending time in the room. If you do (e.g, because of bad weather), pop for the beach view.

Unbeatable Location for the Price
I had a really goor time here. I knew that I didn't get the 5 star hotel and didn't expect to have the qualities of the 5 star hotel. But it was a great location, great staff, and a quiet room to sleep in. I would reccomend this hotel to my friends.

No Windows with a view!
I was told that all rooms had a view of the Long Island Sound, that is the reason we wanted to stay there. After walking up to the second floor (no AC in Halls)we were taken to our room, it had a sliding glass door, out to a small balcony but you had to lean waaaaaaaay out over the railing to see water. The downstairs restaurant was great for breakfast. The rest of the place I wouldn't recomment to anyone.
