Good facility, not so sure about staff
Other reviews had talked about the very helpful staff at the hotel: very important to a mother traveling with young children, and one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was not the same as previous guests'. I checked in with a whiny baby in my arms, leaving two kids in the car. I was kept waiting more than 10 minutes while the front desk person helped another person on the phone to book a block of rooms. Since she saw I was struggling with my child and since the call was obviously going to take a while, I thought she could have at least had the other person hold for 60 seconds to even say "I'll be right with you." Then, I was shocked when another woman stepped out from around the back room - had she been there all along, just needing to be asked? Traveling with a little group, of course, we had tons of "stuff:" beach bags, baskets of toys, food. I asked for help unloading the car and carrying things up to our room, and I was told that a luggage cart was in the front hall for my use. They did call someone, who was courteous and helpful, but I was already pretty far along by then. I also observed two other interactions the front desk staff (three different people) had with other guests: I didn't see many favorable ones. I also left a favorite belonging there - something someone else could easily use, especially given that it had a value of about $75 and was practically brand new. I'm 100% sure I left it on the front desk. I called two days later and sure enough, it was nowhere to be found. :( Happily, many of the other staff were quite nice: housekeeping and other staff were very pleasant in the halls. The room was nice and quite clean. Kids loved the indoor pool. Nice TVs! We brought way too much food: there was a lovely breakfast each morning - much better than average. And, we didn't know about the light supper reception on Mon-Thurs. Lovely terrace as well. There were some great things about the hotel, but a not-so-helpful staff made our experience "3 stars" instead of "4." I think we will investigate other suite-type hotels for our regular future travel to the area.

Not Applicable
If you're heading 15 south, exit 53, then go straight off the exit .... it is behind the retirement home and both we and our GPS missed it the first time.

was as expected
It was fine, what I expected for the price/area, the coffee maker and dishes in the kitchen obviously hadn't been used in quite some time because they stuck to each other. There were some areas in the room that were dusty, obviously hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly. Heard 2 housekeeping people discussing accusations of theft in the hall, that didn't make me feel so comfortable...otherwise it was okay. Waffle maker was the best part.

Respectable hotel
Respectable hotel, clean hotel and rooms. The only complaint was that the room was small. I love the fact that they have free breakfast every morning ( a real breakfast not the coffee and bagel variety). Great pick for staying a few nights and have no need for the bells and whistles.

One night in Stratford
I did not have time to try any of the amenities other than TV as I arrived late in the night. But, the bed was comfortable and the room clean and quiet.

PLEASANT STAY PLEASANT STAFF
EXCELLENT VALUE. GREAT HOT BREAKFAST, CHANGED DAILY. MON-THUR WINE AND BEER 5:30 TO 7:00. ALSO, LIGHT DINNER SERVED WITH SALAD BAR. NOT THE CHEAPEST HOTEL, BUT A GREAT VALUE WITH THE BREAKFAST AND DINNER FIGURED IN. STAFF FRIENDLY, EVEN BROUGHT DESERTS FROM HOME. VERY NICE LOBBY WITH FIREPLACE.

An excellent experience all around
The staff was beyond accommodating, and the hotel was very clean. Despite some mix-up with my request for a non-smoking room, there was hardly any evidence, outside of ash trays, that we were staying in a smoking room. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate for our needs. Their waffle irons got a lot of use between the two of us. I will definitely look for this hotel again when I travel!

weekend getaway
I booked this hotel because my husband and I wanted to have a weekend getaway with our friends (another couple) and none of us had ever been to Connecticut. The two bedroom suite is what sealed the deal. We wanted equal rooms for each couple and this hotel was perfect. We all were pleasantly surprised with the location, the rooms, and the pool. The free breakfast was also a plus and we utilized our kitchen for our other meals. It was a nice trip and a nice hotel. I would book with this hotel chain again.

Short drive from hotel
Recreation center is about a mile down the road. It is a little expensive, but fun. Has laser tag, a type of bowling, miniature golf, and a few others.
