Stamford Plaza Hotel - not worth it.
Synopsis - there are plenty of other hotels in the area that are newer and nicer. There is no need to stay here unless you are attending a convention here. Stamford Plaza Hotel has a great "atrium" and a decent gym. Walking into the room is like walking back in time a bit. The old school TV is about 20 ft from the bed and there were cigarette burns in the rug. Not a good sign. But at least the bed was clean and the linens looked good. The next morning I realize my breakfast card was never picked up. Again, not a good sign. The following morning at 8am, I am awakened by a gospel singer. Apparently a church had rented the convention space. It is all you could hear throughout the hotel.

The hotel looked to be upscale but beneath the surface was anything but. The pool area looked like it was last updated in the seventies. The room was very noisy with hall traffic, and the electrical plug pulled out of the wall when I went to unplug my cell phone. We were also charged six dollars to watch an hour episode of the deadliest catch, not to mention the ten dollor parking fee.

Not bad but could be better
Went to visit family,location was good for us,hotel room was clean,but no detail cleanig(walls marked up tv screen filthy,under staffed,room a little small.

Mixed Review
I had difficulty finding the hotel and arrived tired at midnight. (Mapquest had been incorrect and locals seemed unable to direct me.) My room was huge with a large comfortable work space; however I could not (and the front desk could not) get the computer hookup to work...so no email. There was no hair dryer in the room (a basic) but housekeeping brought me on.

Musical rooms - not a good sound.
I arrived close midnight and had to change rooms 3 times: first one the door didn't shut and plumming was noisy; second one was not made up! Third one was fine. Went up and down the elevator and long walks with my luggage. No one offered to help! I've never had such a bizarre experience checking into a hotel. They comped me breakfast for my trouble which I appreciated. However, the $10 parking fee which was not indicated anywhere on this website or at the front desk - for which I was charged - cancelled out the breakfast comp. I thought that staying at a big conference center would mean the place was exceptionally well- run. Not true! In the future I will stay at a Hampton Inn or La Quinta, where they are small and do what they do, well.

Excellent Value
It was my first time being in a hotel that didn't have any toiletries. We forgot our lotion and there wasn't any. However, for $27/night for a Suite... who's complaining. This is the Best Value I have EVER had, especially in Stamford, CT where rooms go for $150/night and up.

the place seemed pretty old and worn out
everything in the hotel room seemed old and used. The bed sheets were not clean. And I had to wait a very long time to check in.
