Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a nice dining option in the hotel, plus the small tavern, but a short drive to Mohegan gives many options. Use the free valet there.

The Spa at Norwich Inn

The hotel was nice, clean and had a lot to offer guest, such as the spa, hiking, walking trails, a short distance from Mohegan Sun. They also offer a buffet, I didn't eat it, but it looked pretty good. The one thing I didn't like is that they add a $6 fee for every guest that books through a travel site stating the travel site only charges the room rental fee and that fee was for bottled waters, and the right to walk around the facility and the right to self park. Nonsense charges that just irritate people. That fee should be included with the room rental They also have on the policy when you sign in that if you don't return the plastic swipe room key that they will charge you $100 for failure to return each key. A swipe card that probably cost 50 cents. Other than these ridiculous polices that nickel and dime people it was a nice time. So my suggestion for anyone who visits there, it's a nice place to visit, but read everything you sign.

it's a nice place to visit, but read everything you sign, they will nickel and dime you any chance they get. Also the only decent restaurants (decor) are in Mohegan Sun, if you just want a burger and breakfast, there are local neighborhood spots.

very disappointing

The Norwich Inn & Spa ain't what it used to be! The main house is looking shabby. The furniture needs recovering for sure.Evidently when one books a deal on Orbitz, one is "assigned" to a "villa". These are condos owned by individuals who use them as time shares, or vacations.. none of the staff seemed certain. What was certain is that they're run by a condo association responsible for outdoor maintenance which has been left to peeling paint, broken cement, etc. The villa was musty smelling, dark, depressing.thin towels They "comped"our breakfast..Glad to be out of there

fantastic spa resort

i had 2 spa treatments that were great. I took a meditation class and a walk around the spa. My husband enjoyed his spa treatment too. Nothing was missing from the weekend. The hotel employees were gracious and very helpful.

Just what it says!

We chose the hotel because we were going to the nearby Mohegan Sun Casino to watch a women's basketball game and play a little blackjack and poker. [...] it was all that was advertised -- spacious room; large working Spa with several heated pools and hot tubs; free scones and tea at 3:00, free wine tasting with cheese and crackers at 5; etc. It was unusual to see about half the guests walking around in the plush white robes the hotel provided. We were there only one night -- less that 24 hours -- so did not see a lot of people; but judging from the wine-tasting, men are definitely in the minority. (Their in room brochure has a page that says "Real men do spa." I'm sure that's true but privileges on a nearby municipal golf course are provided just in case.) While I played in a poker tournament in the morning, my wife had a "better than average" deep massage. If this type of experience appeals to you and you can get a discounted price, I highly recommend staying at the Spa.
