One night stand
Steve Dec 14, 2009
It was just a quick overnight. I arrived and everything was ready, keycards, etc. The room was made up, clean, bathroom ... well stocked. There was coplimentary spring water and a nice coffee maker. Although it is on the main drag the room was quite and without traffic noise. I did not bring gym clothes or a bathing suit so I cannot comment on those facilities. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. Parking very convenient.

NICE HOTEL, BUT BRING EARPLUGS.
Traveler Dec 14, 2009
PROS: Quick check-in, nice lobby and common areas. Good fitness center and indoor swimmming pool. CONS: The new ... (unfortunately) through-wall HVAC unit was noisy and woke me up every time it cycled on (and I'm a sound sleeper). I eventually had to turn it off (which wasn't ideal, since it was cold outside). Also, not a big deal, but the two packets of coffee for the in-room coffee maker were both decaf. (Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until the morning.) I wouldn't recommend the hotel simply because the HVAC unit was so noisy. If you can't sleep well at a hotel, the rest doesn't really matter, does it?

Leading the list of things I liked is the staff. Friendly and helpful all the time. I liked the restaurant, service was ... excellent. My room was clean, comfortable and well kept in every respect. Good location, literally a minute from Freeway 95.

Breakfast was very good. The hotel was extremely easy to find, right off the highway. Avoid flying into or out of JFK. LaGuardia was recommended but couldn't find a non-stop flight from Phoenix. (Home base is usually Denver, with more non-stop choices.)

The only criticism is the restaurant waitstaff -- you may need to go searching for them. Other than that, a good hotel for ... the money -- quiet, conveniently located, & free internet (always a +++), pleasant rooms. Will go again.

The front desk agent was very helpful while I was looking for a place to eat. She gave me menus and directions, arranged for ... an ON TIME, free shuttle to drop me off and pick me up. Clean, fresh bed with plush pillows. Very comfortable stay.

Good for overnight stay and easy to find
Normie Joe May 29, 2009
I reserved this room for business I had in the Norwalk area. This room was a little above average based on most hotel rooms ... in this price range & based on other hotels I've stayed at in the recent past. The room was quiet and somewhat restful, even though it was near an elevator, I beleive, based mainly on my late arrival (1:30am) and early departure (7:30am). The room was clean with a nice flat screen TV that I didn't have an opportunity to enjoy. There appeared to be high speed internet available, although with my short stay I didn't get a chance to see if there was a daily internet charge or included with the price of the room. The bathtub drain didn't work properly (Stopper kept closing), although the water pressure was more than adequate and enough hot water. Coffee in the room was good and easy to make. The iron and ironing board were both in good condition. Breakfast was very good in the restaurant. This was a buffet style that offered hot and cold breakfast items. Plenty of choices. Better than most hotels.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever!
Carolyn Sep 21, 2008
Great hotel. I had never stayed at a Doubletree, and was impressed by most everything. Room had great amenities. There was ... an in-room coffee maker, with the single size coffee pods, so you don't have to worry about the cleanliness of the coffee pots. Also really nice clock radio with MP3 plug-in. The bed had a memory foam cushion on top of the matress. My husband loved it, but it was too soft to my liking. Also, there were tons of pillows, but all were the same and were too full for me. The hotel was at a pretty good location and we took a cab twice to downtown. It cost between $8-10. The fitness facility was very nice, and we used it one day. The restaurant had a great variety and the food was very good. Of course the best part was the warm chocolate chip cookie at check in!

My boyfriend and I stayed the night before a race. The hotel was beautifully kept inside, and it was near the highway, which ... was very convenient. The pool was great, and so was the staff. They even gave us cookies at check in! The room was very clean and very up to date.
