That's Good Stuff

We needed some rest & relaxation and a little fun. This hotel gave us both. The location was perfect for a quick girls get-away from the hustle of New York. We had the opportunity to do some shopping. We also visited the Aquarium. As for relaxation, The comfort of the beds alone gave us that and the heated pool gave us some fall in-door fun.

What a relief!

I always worry that I've booked a really bad hotel -- it was a relief that the Doubletree was easy to find, clean and comfortable. The front parking lot was the only thing I had a problem with; it's small and not easy to park in.

It was great except for:

Great location, however the entrance to the parking lot could be improved. I was there for a weekend to visit friends. There was a wedding reception Saturday night and the front entrance was crammed with 50+ individuals smoking outside and imbibing. They were not rowdy just sort of right in the way of the entrance. [...]. Also it would be helpful if they had some up to date traffic information scanning in the hotel. 95 up there can be a monster. I have been there twice in the last six months and both time it took about an hour to get from Stamford to the hotel exit which is 8 miles. Just traffic. Once you are there, if you go anywhere stay off 95.

Lots of good restaurants within ten minutes driving. Also very close to train station that takes you to Grand Central in New York.

Fine stay

Left hat in exercise room. Reported lost hat and left my home telephone number at check out. Hotel staff called a day later to report they found the hat and arranged to mail it to my home.

Super comfy to to stay at

I stayed here for one night and I can say the mattress and pillows were some of the best I've ever experienced. I normally do not sleep well, but it was very comfortable and everything was as expected. Bathrooms were also very nice with granite or granite around the bathtub.

Good rest stop

Stopped off for Thanksgiving night while visiting family nearby. Stayed here many times before. Didn't get a chance to take advantage of all hotel offers. Was impressed by recent renovation. Lobby looks a lot more warmer.

Class reunion - great location

Staff was friendly at check-in - offered info on restaurants and a map when I came down looking for info on food and attractions in the area. I would have liked to peruse such literature in a rack or have a booklet in the room like some hotels have.Food was very good at breakfast and chef was happy to customize omelets. We enjoyed staying at the same place as the reunion.[...] We got placed in a handicapped room which had some features we didn't like.

Doubletree - Norwalk

We were in Norwalk to visit with our daughter and her family. Unfortumately I did not have time to use the fitness center or the pool -- maybe next time. The room was clean only comment was the toilet paper holder was a too far from the toilet and hard to reach, expecially for a short person. The staff was friendly and helpful and the business center comput was centrally located and accessible.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Several shopping centers close by so we culd get what we needed and also fast food if that is your eating preference. However, the Post Road Diner which is within 2 miles is a great place.
