Hilltop Inn

We choice this hotel because we had stayed there in the past it was alot cleaner when we stayed there before. They did offer free breakfast it was ok. we arrived at the hotel on a friday night there was only one light on in the parking lot ,so it was very dark and not very welcoming i was glad i was not arriving alone. I was also very disappointed that they no longer had shuttle service wich they still advitised to Mohegan Sun and will did not find this out until our arrival, they did offer us a ride only if there was 6 people going and there would be a fee. So we where unable to relax and enjoy ourself at the concert knowing we had to drive back to the hotel.

My wife and I chose to spend our honeymoon in Mystic, CT. The hotel had good reviews, a decent price, and a good location. The first thing we noticed when we got our room was a strong musty odor that did not clear up with the AC on. We also found the bathroom to be unclean with hairs on the floor and counter. The bed was very old and worn out. There were 2 refrigerators in the room, both of which were unplugged, I do not know why they were there. Our 2nd day we found that there was no cleaning done to the room in the morning. They simply made the bed, replaced the towels, and turned the dirty glasses back over in the bathroom. They did not vacuum nor wash anything. I have stayed over 150 nights in Hotels over the last few years and have a good idea of what to expect. This was not it. Though the staff was friendly, it was obvious that their standards of cleanliness were not up to normal hotel levels.

The pool was not very well kept up but was clean and very refreshing in the heat & humidity. The beds were good and we each got three pillows which was cool. We could have stayed somewhere else for the price but not a lot of places have outdoor pools and that was the major reason we picked it.

I would stay there again! Why!?? - QUIET - There was a teen softball team staying in our hallway and we didn't hear a thing! - DARK - The windows have blackout curtains, we didn't know it was morning until our alarm went off! - SHOWER - lots of hot water & great pressure - EXTRAS - there was fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room (do make sure the fridge is plugged in, ours wasn't)

four of us shared a room and we had no problem. We were close enough to go to the casino and still far enough away to have peace and quiet at night. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The staff was also very nice. There is a grocery store right across the street which was very useful, and there were resturants close by as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilltop Inn.

The lobby was beautiful and the people at checkin and out were very nice.The rooms were clean as well as the pool area.The dryer did not seemto dry to well but overall it was a nice place to stay.

room assigned was being worked one, changed rooms; staff nice, but soda machine broken and not labeled as such, offered no refund. signs of mold starting in bath area. food cooked for breakfast was all overcooked. comfortable room overall. enjoyed our stay overall. easy on/off highway access. not told to plug in refrigerator on arrival. glad to have coffee maker and supplies in room. comfortable beds and pillows!

We were in Niantic for a wedding. The hotel was very nice and conveniently located. Breakfast was excellent. However, we spent 3 days at the hotel and on the last day there they never cleaned the room. Usually they ask if you want clean towels but no one even came in the room that last day. Other than that the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly.
