Rooms with modern style and great amenities in a convenient location
It is hard to beat the price for these modern rooms only a mile from the Coast Guard Academy in New London. Just off of Interstate 95 at exit 82/83, and half a mile from Connecticut College, the Red Roof Inn is a great choice for commuters, vacationers and anyone visiting the university students in their lives. There is no need to find a pet sitter, as the policies of the Red Roof Inn include pets staying for free. Wi-Fi Internet access is also complimentary. Reluctant Traveler Critic
Adequate place to stay
Hard to find the lobby. Two buildings. Parking outside and not covered, so got wet going to the car. Noisy at night-glad the door was locked. No gym or amenities. There was in room coffee. In the morning, there was a guy looking for something in the dumpster. Only would stay here if you are on a tight budget. It's right next to the highway so very convenient.

Clean and cheap!
Very clean hotel, the staff was friendly.. and the hotel is back out of the cut. We took our medium size dog with us and asked for a room in the back, so we could walk him in peace. Very good deal!!!!

Try the mofongo restraunt, its downtown a lttle bit (make a right out of the hotel) The food is a spanish cuisine, priced right and very tasty!!!!

It worked for us
We're used to deluxe accommodations, but this clean and average room fit the bill for what we needed. We upgraded to a room with fridge and microwave, but didn't wind up needing them.

I recommend Herbs diner for breakfast or lunch. It's a short drive on 32 on the way to Mohegan Sun.

Show at Mohegan
We attended an Eric Church show and needed a place to stay. This room was decent for what we paid for it., it is just nothing special at all. Beds seemed very clean. It was so easy to get to and from Mohegan from this hotel, I'd recommend it just for that. There was no fridge! only an ice bucket. that was kinda disappointing. Hotel was really close to some restaurants and fast food places that were open late. I'd stay here again.
