Great additon to New Haven, too bad about the noise

It's great to have a hotel that has more personality but also luxury in the New Haven, especially for those visiting Yale. The location is great. The street noise, however, is not! We did not heed warnings about street noise mentioned in other reviews, since we thought we're hardened New Yorkers and former Yalies, we can probably tolerate anything. We were wrong. There were sirens and motorcycles all night; I hadn't realized Chapel St seemed to be the main thoroughfare for fire trucks! We were also disappointed by the lack of seating in the room. With only 1 desk chair, my husband and I could not even sit together to eat our room service. The food from Heirloom was excellent, however.

perfect stay for a tour of school

From the moment the friendly doorman opened the taxi door and grabbed my luggage,I knew this would be a very pleasant stay. The staff is extremely thoughtful: yummy cookies, apples at reception; lovely reading area in the lobby, delicious breakfast food, and clean and comfortable room with a great view of the city. The restaurant was closed for a private event, so the staff gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The hotel is quietly elegant without being fancy, and I did feel that our comfort and requirements was the hotel's first priority.

Reblaw Conference at Yale

We decided to go to the conference and all the family (2 parents and 2 boys 13, 17) packed up and registered at the Study. Good reception as they were able to change to 2 beds. Nice room all that is missing is a small fridge. Good location no problem at all !

Best location in New Haven

Chapel St has two art museums, bookstores (the great Atticus), art supply stores and even some good clothes stores, all within a few blocks. Now it has a great modern hote! Free NY Sunday Times was only one of the amenities, plus free valet parking (of course, we tipped).

Very Good

Stayed for one night when visiting Yale. Elegant room with very comfortable leather chair and very confortable bed, pillows, and linens. The only flaw was the cramped bathroom.

Great comfort close to Yale

The Study is a great getaway in New Haven. The room furnishings were sleek and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. When we called about a plumbing issue, the repair person came within five minutes. The restaurant had very good food that was obviously made on-site. We are looking forward to our next visit.
