On Campus

This was my third stay at the Study and all have been satisfying. New Haven does not have much hotel competition for the Study. It is right on campus, very modern, Euro-style and yet very comfortable. Rooms are small but the lobby and bar are excellent for visiting. My first choice in New Haven.

Study at Yale = absolutely fabulous

What an amazing place to stay! Clean, professional staff and great accommodations. Great location central to cute shops and eateries. We just couldn't get enough. Also, an amazing library of books to choose from during your stay. No better place to stay in New Haven!

Cool & Funky Hotel

I was in New Haven to do some work at St. Rapheal Hospital. I usually travel at major hotel chains, so this is a little different for me. 1) The Study is a really cool hotel, the decor was kind-of retro/modern ... everything themed based on its proximity to Yale. The lobby and the bar are the best, with comfy seating and huge bookcases filled with books. 2) My queen room was a bit smaller than I'm used to, as was the teeny-tiny closet. Perhaps they only expect very short stays. I liked the huge desk and big windows with a view of downtown New Haven. 3) Service was excellent, as was the food at the restaurant. 4) I would definitely stay there again. Of all the hotels near the hospital (8-ish blocks away), this was the best priced, and the only one with restaurant/bar/room service. Highly recommended, but I would beg for a room upgrade.

Hidden Gem

The themed hotel was a pleasant surprise since it was the first time I stayed at one. The variously sized rooms was perfect for me. The large windows and big desk was great.

Nice hotel but breakfast was slow

Well located and welcoming hotel staff. The room was spacious and set up for work - desk, nice reading chair and free wireless. However, breakfast was not great. The service was incredibly slow (there were two other tables to wait on!) and the food was ok but overpriced. Also could use coffee makers in the rooms...
