Great value w/a shuttle, but steer clear of the breakfast

I picked this hotel because it was the nicest one that offered a shuttle to/from the airport and other spots around New Haven. (Not sure what the max. distance is, but reasonably far. If you tip the drivers, they're happy to take you wherever.) The shuttle runs from 7am until 7pm (pretty sure -- that's within 1h either way, at least) . They run every 30min., and you can either schedule your trip ahead or call when you're ready and wait on them. The rooms are nice. It's an extended stay type place, so you have a full kitchen w/popcorn & coffee stocked, a living room, and a nice little bathroom off to the side. Also, the rooms are like little apartments. Kind of nice because it's quieter. On the other hand, you then have to brave Connecticut weather to get to the lobby/gym/etc.. *Wired* internet is free in the rooms, but no wi-fi. My Verizon phone got 4 bars of 3G service everywhere in the hotel.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Think twice before eating the free breakfast or light supper: during my stay, I watched a cleaning lady wipe down a dirty trash can with her rag, then wipe down the food counter immediately thereafter with the same rag.

Enjoyable night's stay

We only stayed for one night, but the staff was very friendly. The room was very cozy with kitchen area and fireplace. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint is that the shower did not drain well. The sink area is separate from the toilet / shower which is nice but the room with toilet and shower was not well ventilated.

Nice place, decent price

Every time I come here the service is great. My only wish is that the free Internet they provide be wireless. The beds are great too.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Greek Olive is a short drive down Frontage. Food is great and many local news celebrities go there, so you know it's good! ;)

Great experience

Great experience. Friendly and helpful staff. The executive studio was better than I expected. The room has all kitchen appliances including dishes, pots & pans, and silverware. Very nice hotel although a little pricy.

Yikes

Front desk was empty, no bell. Room had no parking left, had to park on far side of complex. Hotel is in a dank industrial section, not much around. Room smelled like cat pee, must be pet-friendly hotel. Pretty much the worst experience in a long while.

Great place!!

This place was perfect. Great location close to the highway, clean, comfortable, friendly. In lobby, food available for guests, for breakfast and lunch. The kitchen in the suite is well equipped to cook a small meal.

Fantastic!

This was an unexpected pleasure. The room was spacious with a *really* comfortable king bed, sleeper sofa, large TV, Comcast cable modem in the room, working fireplace, kitchen with fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove/oven, pots, pans, dishes, silverware. Toilet/shower separate from sink/mirror, good shower. Notes in the room ask visitors to reuse towels & sheets to reduce pollution. Close to Yale. Good breakfast with standard continental breakfast items plus eggs, meat, potatoes and a waffle maker. The waffle maker is in the middle of the buffet which makes for cumbersome lines. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hard to find.

It look me about an hour to find the hotel, called the front desk 2 times for directions. To be fair there was road construction which did not help.
