was perfect for what we needed

We went to a wedding reception that was held within walking distance. Had cocktails after the wedding right across the street in a pub/bar. We had a 3 1/2 hour drive the morning of the wedding and hotel was very accomodating and let us check in early so I could dress there.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Right across the street is a pub and a more upscale bar/restaurant is right through the courtyard across the street. There is a theater right around the corner. Yale is within walking distance.

Omni at Yale

Overall, a nice hotel, but pricey, and not worth the price for what it offers; while most now offering full free breakfast. I was reather generous in giving it 4 stars because it is above average. Costs a lot to park there too, and would not stay there again.

Staff is terrific but too few of them!

I realize the lodging business is suffering, but low staffing, even when they are high quality, can be felt and is not a fun experience. Warm public rooms, slow service, take their toll on the staff and the customers. Food quality is great (except for the coffee) and decor is lovely in small rooms and baths, but the wonderful location, and lack of other hotels so close, makes it hard to resist. We had just stayed there three weeks prior and had a different experience - very positive all around.

Great location

Very nice hotel, great location by Yale and New Haven Green. Smaller room size and bath but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food on the 19th floor is quite good and offers a lovely view of Yale buildings and surrounding area. Parking garage is well lit and convenient.
