Convenient access to Mystic
The hotel needed detail work - a crack in the sink, shower mildew, ripped screens, etc. The complimentary breakfast was quite modest. However, it was one of the better priced for the areas. Therefore, it was okay for one night and convenient access to Mystic seaport and Aquarium.

close to attractions
This hotel was in a great location, close to the main attrations: Mystic Seaport, Aquarium and Mystick Village shopping. There were also several nice restaurants not too far away that were an easy drive and the traffic around the hotel was not a problem. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but a little shabby around the edges - i.e., bathroom floor, and shower tiles were worn, the pool had broken tiles, etc. The free breakfast consisted only of muffins and coffee and you were not allowed to take them back to your room.

Great Rate, Horrible Stay!
When we arrived my bestfriend and I were very excited...until we opened the door into the Lobby. We were greated by a very potent Body Odor smell. The two women behind the counter were very rude. She handed us our key and that was it. No information about WHERE the room was, how to get there, the hours of continental breakfast, where the pool was, where the gym was, if there was an elevator, where any attractions in the area would be, what time check out would be, access code for the WiFi, NOTHING!!!!! My bestfriend and I literally lugged our suitcases up the stairs onto the second level. We opened the door to a very musty smell. I looked the room over and noticed there was no fridge. (I had specifically asked for a room with a fridge) I called the front desk. With an attitude I got the response..."fine come down and I'll change your room." I went down, got my key...and again no other information. The "new" room was now on the first floor. My friend and I again lugged our luggaged down the stairs....as we were struggling and getting to the last step and hotel employee told us, "Oh there is an elevator right over there," then proceeded to giggle. At this point I was very frustrated. So we decided to throw on our bathing suit and go for a swim. We walk out to the pool only to find it UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! A heads up would have been nice! We had MANY more issues. TV kept going out...people at front desk were flat out rude and not helpful at all, we had the DO NOT DISTURB card on our handle yet someone had been into our room while we were out for the day, the Continental Breakfast is a JOKE! It is a carb fest. Waffles, Bagels, English Muffins! No fruit, not yogurt...awful....I would NOT recommend this place AT ALL!!!!

Not going back-blood stain
Blood smear on curtain in room 124. Very disturbing.... What the hell happened in that room??? Changed rooms to 126 but girl gave us room with bad lock so had to lug bags back and forth to desk and get a 3rd room. She never apologized or anything either time. Very annoyed. Got into 3rd room, 128. Toilet right up against wall, very uncomfortable. Light above sink buzzed. Fridge wasn't cold and had an odor. Air conditioner rattled. Bed was comfortable atleast. Talked to manager next day. She "did" apologize and gave me a 20% discount which I will never use because I will not be going back. I wish the Howard Johnson down the street wasn't booked. That's where we always stay. That's an actual good hotel. Ugh...

nice breakfast room, friendly desk clerk
In New London for the Connecticut College graduation. This was my first stay in Mystic. I loved being serenaded to sleep by the millions of frogs in the wetland on the other side of the parking lot...a very sweet place, with friendly desk folks and a darling breakfast room.

Okay, could have been better....
My wife and I enjoy traveling to Mystic for the various things to do there, not the least are the casinos... We normally stay at a different hotel but picked this one [...] The hotel is very easily accessed from the highway, and is near some of the best local attractions. However, the hotel is fairly old and needs to be updated. Our suite (or so they claimed) was fairly large but it was right next to the stairs. The walls were so thin that we could hear every sound from the stairs - the constant banging of the doors, ice and vending machine noise and people just blabbering away in the stairwell. Painful. The beds were squeaky and uncomfortable for my wife and child. The bathroom was very outdated and desperately needs to be refurbished. Not very clean and paint/paper was peeling everywhere. The shower head had adjustments but they did not work. I am not a big fan of the sink outside the bathroom concept. However, overall the place was good if you are there just to sleep. The breakfast was decent and the staff quite attentive during the breakfast.

Good room for a good price
Hotel was great for the price Let's face it - if your paying $50 a night for a room you aren't really in a position to complain about a lack of amenties. Rooms were clean, furnishings adequate, breakfast quite good. A bargin for the price...

very nice stay
Three of us stayed in one room. Very clean, comfortable. We went to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, which are not very far away. I was not told about any continental breakfast so I assumed they didn't have one. It was a nice stay in a nice neighborhood, close to a big variety of places. I have stayed here before and will again.

Short drive from hotel
As I said above, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos are not too far away,( about 15 minutes drive). The hotel has directions to the casinos in their lobby along with other pamphlets of things to do that are close by.
