Just passing through on business. Rooms were clean enough, clientele a little sketchy. It worked, but I would find somewhere else to stay the second time around.

good price
overall the hotel was pretty good it's just that the floor was dirty and the bed was like a box spring. but if your cheap you'll deal with it. it's next to wendys and DD so it's ok. there is a truck stop right next door but they aren't that loud, you'll here more noise(construction) from the hotel staff than truckers. it's near the metro north and it's best if you have a car, milford transportation sucks.

At least it was cheap.
We were only staying a short time and figured that saving the money in the hotel would leave us with a little more spending cash. It turned out OK. When I went into the office all three people behind the counter were smoking and looked at me like "What do you want?" I was a little confused but got the room. Nothing fancy, exactly what it looks like in the pictures - wood paneled walls, small bathroom - but what surprised us was that it looked like it hadn't been swept or vacuumed in weeks. The floor was gritty and the towels had hairs on them, hairs that were NOT ours. If you're super cheap, you'll deal with it, but don't expect an ice machine or any other accommodations. It's right next to a Pilot, Dunkin' Donuts, and Wendy's so you'll have something to eat and drink. DON'T LEAVE CIGS / PRESCRIPTIONS IN YOUR ROOM. You'll come up short.

Really bad
I was looking for the cheapest deal to take care of some business in New Haven. My room had not had updating since I'd say 1974. Towels were worn out. The room was very dark... several bulbs were out. It felt very dirty. I dared not leave the room after dark, as I read another review where a customer was mugged. I did enjoy some HBO and free wireless. It served my purposes ok, but I don't think I'd stay there again.

Cheap motel, you get what you pay for
We booked this motel ahead of time, but when we got there we bailed out and went to another one. There were dubious people around, the building seemed in desperate need of maintenance, internet was not working, there was some smell, etc.

Dirty
All surfaces were free of dust. The floor, however, was absolutely filthy. I threw my socks away so I would not have to put them in my suitcase. The shower was moldy. It was a truck stop motel and their listed price was cheaper than what Orbitz paid with my money.

Not a safe environment
My husband came out of the room to get milk at the truck stop next door. A voice in the darkness had a gun pointed at him and said I'm going to take your money and shoot you. Not a pleasant experience as you can imagine. Would never stay here again.

Good Overnight Motel
This motel is very simple and it would be a good option for overnight stays. I stayed there a total of 4 days visiting my 7 year old daughter and got snowed in the first day. They do not have much options for kids. It is very close to the Conneticut Post Mall and so I spent much of my stay there since they have cinemas, a kid recreation area, etc. Again overall a good option for overnight if you happen to pass through the Milford CT area.

Good value
The Mayflower motel is not a high class Cherry furniture type of place. It is very average and pedestirian. The prices reflect this and it is the best value in the area for someone who just wants a place to sleep for the night. It is not in the best neighborhood, It is a commercial, industial area and the motel is located next to a truck stop. There was no unusual noise from the truck stop and I slept well the three nights I was there. The staff is freindly and accomodating. There is a large cat who lives in the office and greets guests as they enter. If you want chandeliers and a uniformed consierge this is not the place for you. That service is available in the area for three to four times what you would pay here. If you want just a simple place to spend the night, this is more than adequate.
