reasonable accomodations
This is a pleasant place to stay when visiting the Yale campus. It is only about 10 minutes southwest of New Haven and easily found off of the highway. The room was large and quiet, and the staff were very pleasant. Although there is a continental buffet for breakfast, it is rather sparse -- some sliced fruit, a few doughnuts, and juice or coffee. I would stay there again unless I were able to stay at the Omni, one block across the New Haven Green from the campus.

There is nothing terribly appealing foodwise near the hotel, so best to plan on driving several miles in either direction to find lunch or dinner.

Quick stop
Needed a one night stop in the area, pleasant hotel and staff, clean. Great rate. However, our room had a "musty" odor - not overbearing but noticeable. Without that it would have been great. I would forewarn anyone about this issue before recommending.

Great location for visiting Yale Univ.
My wife and I had a trip from new york to visit Yale university. It was our first time to visit new haven area. The hyatt hotel was almost a brand new building (we live in march,2011). The lobby was clean and decent. The staffs were super friendly and professional. The room was gorgeous with 42inch LCD as its ads said. We had a fantasy great time living there. We were very satisfied with the quality of everything hyatt offered for as little as 95 dollars. Highly recommend people who need a good quality hotel in new haven area! Oh by the way, from there to Yale is only 10 minutes drive. It's super convenient.

Go eat bruch at Chips restaurant. Fantastic pancakes in a 43 year old restaurant.

Two-night family stay
Easy check-in; easy check-out. My wife and I stayed with our three children and had no complaints. The rooms were very clean and room service was prompt and efficient. We took advantage of the continental breakfast on both mornings -- the fresh fruit was limited to just grapefruit and cantaloupe, but all in all a good value for the money.

Yale Graduation
Relaxed stay during Yale Graduation weekend. Easy to get to from I95 and to get back on I95. Great Mall very close by. Wished for a microwave since diet restrictions require making saltless food. Great fruits in lobby. Kind and respectful hotel workers.

Big rooms, comfortable stay
We stayed here to attend a conference in New Haven because most of the hotels there were already full. It's a fairly easy 10 min drive to the Yale campus. The rooms are very nice for the price, and the staff was excellent. Continental breakfast was typical. It's not walking distance to anything, but there are plenty of chain restaurants nearby, especially around the mall, which is about a mile away. I would be happy to stay here again.
