While Hartford is no New York City or Boston, it does however contain the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Located within a short walking distance from the hotel (and there is another location in Wethersfield, if you're willing to drive) is Vito's Pizzaria. Go there and request the super-thin-sliced, grated cheese pizza. It's the best you'll ever have!

A Diamond in the Rough
Anne Beth Sep 14, 2009
I'm originally from Connecticut (a small town outside of Hartford), but never spent much time in the city outside of school ... field trips. My goal in visiting CT this past weekend was to visit my old hometown while also taking in the more touristy attractions in the state. Even though we spent the majority of our days in CT down by the shore, it was comforting to have this great hotel room waiting for us in a city. The staff was very helpful, the room was super clean, and I was able to use the indoor swimming pool without the distraction or annoyance of children around. I would definitely recommend the Hilton Hartford to anyone in need of a room in the Hartford area; and specifically, for business purposes or overnight trips only. As we discovered our one night there, there isn't all too much to do in the city, so if you're a night owl or looking for a fun place to go on vacation, I wouldn't recommend this city.

I travel regionally on a regular basis. The Hilton was within walking distance from Bus/Train Station, Restaurants, Museum, ... morning coffee etc. (all of which we did specifically). Not a lot of fretting over guests which was nice. This Hilton stay was as easy as purchasing a loaf of bread.

Great!
travelerkelley Aug 15, 2009
We were only there for one night to see a show, but the hotel was walking distance away, from the Comcast Center, which was ... really convenient. We noticed that it was also walking distance from a few other venues, as well as some great little restaurants and bars. The free parking garage was great too. The room was really comfortable and completely spotless. The only things we found that we didn't like were that there was no mini fridge and that breakfast was super expensive considering what it was. Lots of less pricey hotels have free breakfasts. I don't mind paying for it, but it was a little ridiculous. We really could have used a fridge; only being there one night and being able to keep water and leftovers cool would have been very convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and patient despite the large number of guests in town for the show.

We came to Hartford to attend a show. The hotel was quite nice and clean. We did not have enough time to enjoy the pool, we ... will stay at The Hilton any time we are in Hartford. The only problem is we had to pay for parking. We had breakfast at M & M Cafe at the hotel and it was great.

It was great to have an in-house cafe/restaurant and attached parking both of which facilitate getting started in the ... morning-we used the hotel as an overnight stop-over on the way to New York City. Also,it was very close to the highway and downtown restaurants/sights. I would definately stay there again. The beds were very comfortable also.

Hartford Feb 14, 2009
The Hartford Hilton was in the center of downtown Hartford right next to the XL Center which was a plus and the nightlife ... near by was pretty good as well. I loved the view of the city from our room and how clean and neat it was. The hotel restaurant had really good food, but was a bit pricey. The bed was a little too firm, but the pillows really comfortable. Overall a good visit and would stay there again.

Poorly Managed Check-In
Lauren Jun 15, 2008
Last weekend, a few friends and I went to the Hilton Hartford. We wanted to enjoy the day in Hartford, so we we tried to ... check-in at 1:30pm (check-in was scheduled for 3pm). The front desk said that currently they have no rooms available and to come back in an hour or so. My friends and I walked around and came back exactly for 3pm. There was a huge line for check-in and when we finally made it to the front. They said the housekeeping staff was overwhelmed and to check back in 30 mins. Promptly, I returned to find that the rooms were still not cleaned and to check back in another 30 mins. I asked if there was a specific time that I could return when my room would be ready instead of sitting at the lobby cafe to keep getting in the long line every 20 mins. No one could help. Finally 2.5 hours after check-in time, we finally got into our room after much aggravation. Be aware.
