Great spot, even better bargain.
Only needed a place to stay the night before visiting Yale in New Haven. Easy trip into new Haven. Made easier with a great and friendly breakfast at the Dunkin' Donuts right next door. Will stay here again this summer.

Pleasant stay
This hotel was a basic but very adequate hotel. It had a very convenient location not far from Branford Center and near I-95. The staff was courteous and helpful....I realize some reviews can be overly critical, but expectations can often be too high and this hotel was very adequate for its category.

Dirty, noisy and dangerous
First impression was the hotel clerk/owner in a dirty window behind steel bars asking us for our driver's license numbers. Our room was dirty; there were food crumbs on the floor; carpet was dirty and dingy; and towels were stained. Housekeeper changed the linen but did not vacuum the floor. At midnight, washer/drier started working right near the wall of our room. It was very loud and the floor was vibrating. It woke us up. I had to call and complain. Only then it was turned off. There was noise from trucks outside. Would never stay there again, no matter how cheap it is. Horrible experience. It's the kind of place that would have bed bugs. I am still worried about it.

All I need.
When I book a room at a economical motel, all I want is a place to have a good night of sleep, and do some work on my computer conveniently. It offers everything I need. A friendly receptionist to start with, a clean room with more than adequate space, a nice desk for me to work on my computer, TV with much more channels that I need, and most importantly, a reliable and free WiFi. It is 1 to 2 minutes from high way. I stayed there so that I could catch a train at New Haven the next morning to go to NYC. Everything worked out as expected.

Plain but clean and comfortable
We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The manager was friendly and helpful. The motel does not provide breakfast or coffee in room, but coffee was available in the lobby. We would stay there again.

Everything you need
Stopped there with my moving truck. The room was clean, safe, and easily accessible. This hotel is nothing fancy, but everything you need for a comfortable night's rest. Our room even had a mini fridge!

Clean in nice area
I was looking for a clean, well-priced hotel in a safe area near Yale University. I found it in this motel. It is a small establishment with about 15 rooms. The motel is older, but well-kept. I found the beds very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. This is no luxury hotel and was a little older and smaller than I expected, but we were comfortable and safe and that was what mattered to us.

The Parthenon Diner on the same road as the motel (I believe it was south) was delicious and had a hugely varied menu. Friendly's and Dunkin Donuts were within walking distance. Nice amenities near the motel.

A little pricey for what you get
It's a typical motel. I feel it was a bit pricey for what you receive which is really no-frills; there was coffee at the reception desk. One bright point there was Wi-Fi and it seemed to work well for the night we stayed. The rooms were very clean, but, no-frills. The only thing that turned out not to be an issue...we booked [...] and paid with a credit card. When we arrived the owner said there was no payment and I paid in cash. In the morning, the wife of the owner who was then working said that the confirmation did come in and refunded our money with absolutely no issues. And, the two of them were incredibly nice. I would recommend this motel.

This motel is right on I-95. You are right on the Connecticut Shoreline so you have the beaches and all the old beach towns. Also about 20 minutes away there are two gigantic outlets. About an hour away you have the casinos, the Coast Guard Academy, etc.
