Great weekend!
I initially had concerns about staying here when I realized the unit had a murphy bed. To my relief, the bed was quite comfortable, the sport studio unit was updated and exceeded my expectations. We had a great time and would stay again!

In Hotel
The Bistro in the hotel was fun to have a few beers and visit with other travelers. Staff was pleasant, but the food was just ok. Although, you can make your own in the room or jump on the shuttle.

Ironhorse worked for us
We stayed in studio with 2yo daughter. Overall clean but dated kitchen. Bed dropped down from wall and was comfy, daughter slept on couch that did have bed in it but we kept it closed. Towels brought between our 2 night stay but room not cleaned or straightened up. Super easy access to cat walk behind hotel lead to base of WP. Buses come every 15-20 to take into base as well. 2 big hot tubs were nice and heated pool as well. Overall a nice stay. Restaurant didn't open til 4 though so no breakfast available

Perfect Family Setting
The location is within walking distance to the Winter Park Lodge Resort and the room had a cozy cottage feel with an awesome full kitchen. My family is already planning our next vacation here!

Needs to be updated
When the one employee at the counter wasn't on break, she was friendly. The appliances were very outdated and the knobs on the stove were all mixed up. The television was from the 80s and the color was not good. Not a lot to do in the summer as everything was closed at the hotel.

Could be better
Location was good if it only had a courtesy bus to town, which is fairly close. When renting through a private owner its hard to get sheets and towels. Not told I had to go somewhere else to check-in so I went to the resort to check in, the staff checked me in only because we did not have a car to go back and fourth to check in. No breakfast or lunch at the hotel only dinner, so breakfast was a mission. Hotel staff was nice but didn't deal with private owners rentals only direct Resort rentals. They said they where limited to what they can do with individual renters. I waned one more hour to check out later and I had to call the renters place to be approved.

Understaffed
There was no 24 hour check in...it took 3 hours for a guy who could barely speak English to bring us to our room after spending 2 hours to get him to come to the resort. Then he didn't have the codes to get in and that took another hour at 1:00 AM. Ski in - ski out is loosely termed there is one path that comes in and out of the resort. The room was OK with a hideaway bed.

Fantastic Stay!
We stayed at the Iron Horse for a long ski weekend and it was amazing! The ski in/ski out option couldn't have been better. There is shuttle service if a blue isn't where your skill level is at! The facility was clean and the front desk people were friendly. We did have an issue with the bathroom light burning out. We called twice to have it replaced and it never was but otherwise our stay was great. The resort is in a perfect location to the mountain and you can easily drive into town. Caution - don't rely on local cab service to get you to and from places as they are not reliable. I was nervous about the size of the condo considering we chose the studio option and it has a Murphy bed but I have to say that there was plenty of room for two people and I would absolutely stay there again!

great place to stay in the off-season
It was a great location and a beautiful, fully outfitted condo. Because it was the off-season (right after Labor Day), there was no front desk staff at all so we had to check in at a different location. A bit of a pain especially if we needed anything. But otherwise it was great and a bargain. Very quiet and a good place to relax, rest up, take a hike, and enjoy some small town activities during the off-season.

This was a ski trip (Our first vacation). Orginally thought from web site we were getting one bedroom then found out after booking in small print that the rate was for studio.
