Average - Could be GREAT

This location is fantastic, and the hotel needs an interior face lift. I dont mean make it "modern", but take it out of 1960. The service was not up to speed, well, for what I expected. The website, location, city, and price would have you think the service would match, but it was sub par. I hope they respond to this feedback and step it up, it should be the best hotel in Vail! Problems: I reserved a King bed and got two doubles. My remote control was broken. There is no mini bar or mini fridge. The HVAC is ancient/non existant. I only had a plug in space heater in my room. The manager was VERY NICE. The staff left something to be desired. Breakfast was good, but could me improved--the atmosphere should be warmer and maybe some light music? it's almost awkward in there. they did a great job trying to correct the problems with my reservation, I commend them for that, but it's not pleasant to have to move rooms mid trip.

Beautiful hotel, perfect for skiers!

Had a great experience at this hotel. The room was compact but well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is also located right next to the slopes of Vail Mountain and in the center of Vail Village so you can walk to everything. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The cost is a little high ($330/night plus $20/day resort fees + parking) but is on par with high end ski resorts...stayed in a similar one in Snowmass/Aspen which wasn't nearly as nice. Would definitely stay there again!

Loved Pepi's for Apres ski drinks and food. If you're looking for a treat, go to Matsuhisa for awesome sushi and be sure to try the Lychee martinis.

Excellent value

The location, the service, the amenities and the quality and friendliness of the staff at the Lodge at Vail made this trip an exceptional deal. Robes and slippers in the room, coffee and paper in the morning, hot cider and hot cocoa and cookies in the afternoon, heated swimming pool and hot tubs for an after ski dip and a spa on the premises.

The Lodge at Vail

It was a nice stay overall, but that area is very pricey. Also, a coffee pot in the lobby or other area would have been nice.
