Beautiful hotel, perfect for skiers!

Had a great experience at this hotel. The room was compact but well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is also located right next to the slopes of Vail Mountain and in the center of Vail Village so you can walk to everything. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The cost is a little high ($330/night plus $20/day resort fees + parking) but is on par with high end ski resorts...stayed in a similar one in Snowmass/Aspen which wasn't nearly as nice. Would definitely stay there again!

Loved Pepi's for Apres ski drinks and food. If you're looking for a treat, go to Matsuhisa for awesome sushi and be sure to try the Lychee martinis.

Excellent value

The location, the service, the amenities and the quality and friendliness of the staff at the Lodge at Vail made this trip an exceptional deal. Robes and slippers in the room, coffee and paper in the morning, hot cider and hot cocoa and cookies in the afternoon, heated swimming pool and hot tubs for an after ski dip and a spa on the premises.

The Lodge at Vail

It was a nice stay overall, but that area is very pricey. Also, a coffee pot in the lobby or other area would have been nice.

Convenient & Comfortable!

The location of The Lodge at Vail was definitely perfect. The walk to the slopes and to the restaurants, shops and bars in Vail Village was all of about 50 feet and the ski valet stores your skis for free literally slopeside. We really enjoyed some of the finer touches in the rooms like a ceiling fan and a humidifier--really helped to combat that hot dry mountain air. They had more outdoor hot tubs and pools than any other hotel I have ever stayed at, which is great. We didn't have to worry about them being too crowded. Micky's Piano Bar is a nice atmosphere with a fireplace and a very personable piano player who comes nightly. We also really enjoyed the afternoon cucumber water, hot chocolate and cookies that were put out. The only drawback I would say was the breakfast, which was in the Cucina Rustica restaurant. They offered only the buffet, which was $32/person--a bit steep for everyday, and we found we really didn't need that much food every day! Luckily Joe's Deli is right around the corner for lots of breakfast items. The hotel did provide a free coffee and tea bar in the morning where we could help ourselves. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again!
