Boutique Perfection during Vail's Quiet September
We booked this hotel for a September stay during Vail's quiet fall season in between summer and ski season. The location was perfect situated right next to a hike/bike/walk trail and the Eagle Bohn Gondola which carries you up the mountain to Adventure Ridge and fall viewing. The hotel is located in Lionshead village which is fabulous. Vail Village is also an easy walk down a scenic trail less than one mile. We were upgraded upon arrival which resulted in our giving-up a King bed for (2) queens yet with larger space and a fireplace and balcony. Spa was among the best we have encountered and we actually went back a second day to use the spa and massage facilities a second time. Food was very good and well priced at hotel pub upon our arrival. Concierge helped us with reservations and area information on phone prior to our arrival. We are planning to return during ski season.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
La Bottega in Vail Village has a sandwich called Thanksgiving Every Day featuring turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce on a French Roll. It is delicious and just a short walk from Arrabelle for lunch or dinner.

Good Service, Stiff bed
At check-in we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a nice unexpected perk. Great Concierge who went out of their way to find things for their guests. Staff overall was very friendly including housekeeping. Shuttle was great for transportation. No time for the spa on this trip though. Food on site is typical. Although there were many great things about the hotel and our room, there was a mutual agreement that the bed (mattress) was very uncomfortable and we barely got any sleep. Not sure if I would want to come back to that after skiing. Lovely spacious bathroom but it appeared the heated tile was not operational. Thermostat controls and options seemed a bit outdated. I will give this hotel the benefit of the doubt that it has only been opened for a few years. With a little improvement, it has potential.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
More food and shopping options are in Vail Village which is a nice walk in the fall or a short drive via the hotel shuttle. Many places will have shorter hours or be closed for the season.

A magical trip
This is the best experience I have had at any hotel I have stayed at.....anywhere. The hotel itself is elegant with a nice balance of old world appointments and any modern amenity one may require. The location in the newly renovated area of Lionshead, now called Vail Square, is ideal with easy access to the gondola and the hiking trails of Vail mountain. Our room was romantic and very cozy with a great bathtub for soaking away the soreness from a day of hiking. Most importantly, the staff was very friendly with tremendous attention to detail and a level of attentiveness to our needs I have not seen at any other resort. I highly recommend the experience.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
Visited in off season to learn about area and facilities. Facility was excellent and very well positioned for convenience to skiiers. Our experience was excellent save the limited food service options due to seasonal closings.

Short drive from hotel
There are numerous area dining options. Some require short drive or bus ride to Vail Village. Food and service was very good and expensive. Options much more limited in off season.

I love this hotel! Excellent service & quality!
This hotel is amazing! I feel like this is what I would want my dream home to be exactly like. The service is friendly and professional from the valet, concierge, front desk, to bellman. The decor is gorgeous, opulent, and relaxing. The rooms are richly decorated in warm wood paneling with red & gold hues. The bathrooms are beautiful with soaking tubs surrounded in marble. Upon arrival, I found my room atmosphere perfectly set ~ the lighting a warm glow, the Bose radio playing George Winston, and a lovely personalized card from the General Manager. The bed is the softest and most comfortable I've ever experienced at a 5-Star Hotel. The fireplace and balcony are superb ~ a must for any guest. I visited the Spa during my stay and treated myself to a message, followed by a relaxing spa pool which resembled the baths of Rome. Each morning I strolled to the Great Room and indulged in a continental breakfast of fresh brewed coffee, fruit berries, and freshly baked pastries ~ relaxing in an over-sized chair overlooking Vail Mountain.

Perfect Stay
A perfectly beautiful hotel and property, well managed and exceptionally clean. The staff was always polite, taking care of all guests promptly and efficiently. We enjoyed every minute of our much too short stay, and hope to return very soon.
