What A Dump!
When we checked in with our Service Dog(Yes It Registered) we were placed in a Dog Only Room. What that apparently means is filthy carpet, no hot water and a really dingy no light environment. We were also required to place a security deposit for our service dog which is against Federal Government Regulations. Like I said,,,,,What A Dump! Do Not Stay Here...Your Car is Better. Sandy

When we checked in for our Orbitz recommended stay, they REFUSED to give us a standard room for our service dog(yes it's taged) and instead put us in a filthy DOG room. Tge carppet was so bad it marked my White Socks. We couldn't wait to get out.NO THANKS TO YOU ORBITZ..... Also...it was Dark, Dingy and didn't have hot water, when we complained the manager told us they were shuting down soon so he didn't care. GREAT!

Roost Lodge in Vail, CO
Reception was very friendly and made every effort to assist us with any need. Room was not ready - lacking toilet paper and drinking cups. Pillows were thin, hard foam and most uncomfortable. Just not a hotel I would recommend. You get what you pay for and it was cheap for a hotel in Vail.

You get what you pay for
Although the hotel was reasonable ($69 per night) the room was not clean. I found hairs in the bathroom and the bedspreads had stains on them. The carpet was buckled and old and the walls were paper thin. We heard everything going on upstairs in the room next to us. If you can find something else reasonable in Vail, I would suggest going there instead.

Cheap and Convienent
Service was fine. For the price, you get what you pay for. My room smelt funny...But it was convenient to crash alone for a night.

too hot to handle
it was hot. the heat definitely works. the hot tub also works, but it's not as hot as the room. the window opens and they supply small electric fans. the shower also works. it's easy to get to the bus, and it's probably pretty cheap. this entry is entirely serious.

cheap stay at vail
If you are looking for a "cheap" place to stay in Vail this is probably it. Do not expect a mint on your pillow or turn down service. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. We did have working plumbing in our room. The best part was it was right on the bus route to the lifts.

Exactly What I Thought....
This was great for what I wanted...close to Vail without overpaying. The bus line (take it) is so easy and picks you up at the Roost...very cool....Rooms arent great but whatever- they were okay- you should be on mountain and in village anyway.....

Roost Lodge Vail motel review
Not a good hotel at all!! When I arrived, I rang the bell for the front desk staff for 10 minutes and nobody showed up! Turned out he was just outside of the door smoking and never bothered to come in and help me. Then he was not helpful in terms of where to go eat, etc.... The toilet was half broken, there was very little hot water and the room smells. Anyways, I will not stay there again!

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
The restaurant located in Vail Cascade spa and hotel is fabulous!!! bit expensive, but very good. If you want a cheaper steak and really good food, surprising the Outback located in the next town, Avon, is excellent! great service and the steak was cooked perfectly. I guess because the owner of that branch of the steak house is always keeping an eyes on the services and the food!

Dont waste your $$
Wow! This IS the dumpiest Hotel in Vail! Where do I start? I asked for a room out front with a view of the foothills and he gives me a room out back with NO view. I went back to the lobby to get a room with a VIEW! He obliged but it was upstairs and I wasn't sure that the steps would hold us walking up, SCARY! WHen we got to the room there was no screen on the window so we took one off another room and semi installed it. This wouldn't have been a problem of there was air conditioning in the room but, NO! well, we got a view alright...it was adjacent the freeway and all we heard were semi trucks all night! A small coffee maker and a mini microwave would have been nice but no chance. It advertised a POOL and HOT TUB. The hot tub was 1/2 full of water and obviously not running. The pool was completely surrounded by plastic fencing and was obviously not running! Did I mention the paint chipping off the building and the trees that were 1/2 dead and needed serious trimming? The complimentary breakfast was stale muffins and weak coffee! The whole experience was gross and not comfortable at all!
