Great weekend at Trailhead

My teenage daughter and I did a long weekend in Steamboat. Trailhead Lodge is a newer property just down from the Steamboat base. The lodge has it's own gondola that zips you up and back to ski. The shuttle made it easy to go without a car. The room was clean, new and comfortable. Hot tubs and pool were beautiful. Love the boot room and ski drop off by the gondola. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy, lovely weekend.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Walk to Wildhorse for a yummy carryout at Drunken Onion, sandwich at Cruisers, or a forgotten piece of clothing at Sports Authority.

Nice Place!!

This was our third time skiing Steamboat. Trailhead Lodge was by far the nicest place we have stayed. Nothing is within walking distance, but no need to worry, the on-call shuttle will get you where you need to go. The convenience of the lodge gondola was great. The gondola gets you to the base in around 3 minutes. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We would stay here again!!

The Best Weekend Away Ever!!!!

Thank you so much - we had a wonderful weekend. The accomadation was stunning, the location wonderful and the pool and hot tubs amazing! Especially a huge thank you to the staff - nothing was a problem including giving us a late check out of 12pm. We never wanted to leave and will be returning as soon as possible. A++++++++

Not worth the price!!

We have been to Steamboat several times but we have never stayed at a hotel where ski boots were not allowed. You are in a ski town and were forced to leave all ski equipment on a rack down in the basement which is out of the way. The room is nice but the cleaning service was not, we were there for five nights and our room was cleaned twice the cleaning did not include vacuum or sweeping of the floors. We also had to go to front desk for additional towels. For the nightly price the service did not compare.

Great Room!

The hotel room couldn't have been nicer! Was there to ski. Stayed in a 1 bedroom. Came with free bottle of wine and wine glasses to take home. The decor was perfect and had top of the line stainless steal appliances. Kitchen was stocked with eveything you would need to cook. Real granite counter tops and hand carved hickory floors. Gas fireplace was nice but the flame was kind of small. Dvd player provided, which was nice for an evening staying in and watching a movie. I was suprised how warm the pool was and the hot tubs were actually ALMOST to hot. The lobby area was nice but would of been better with a bar to hang out at. Lots of bars though by short gondola ride to the ski square. Gondola was Right next to the hotel and its quite not nosy. Lots of perks not listed on site but offered by hotel like you can call ahead and have food delivered and stocked ready for you when you get there. Would recommand to everybody!

Perfect Location

Stayed at Trailhead for a ski weekend and it was fabulous. There is a private gondola that takes guests from the hotel door to the base of Steamboat ski area - perfectly situated and set up to make it easy to ski. There are also wonderful outdoor hot tubs for apres ski. One slight downside is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but they do provide transportation to downtown where there are plenty to choose from, and we had a kitchen in our room so could make breakfast.
