Great Location at a reasonable price

We have stayed at all of the Daly Lane properties because we love how close it is to the slopes. The Snowmass Inn is the cheapest so don't expect anything fancy but it works for short stays.

Great value, great location, so-so rooms

For skiing, the hotel is almost ski-in, ski-out, close to shops, and a GREAT value. The rooms are a little beat up, but they're nice enough with a great shower and ok beds. I had a hot tub pretty much right outside my door, though it's irksome not to have a table and chairs in the room. There's also a complimentary airport shuttle :^). There are some nice restaurants nearby and the free buses to Aspen are very close.

A Solid Choice

This turned out to be a good choice for us, even though we were visiting and not skiing. If you are skiing, one of the slopes is right there! For us, it was handy because it is rlocated right close to the Snowmass Mall, with its variety of restaurants of all types and meal cost. The hotel is designed from an earlier era, so the design and rooms look a bit dated. However, that also means that the rooms are GIGANTIC by current standards. There is also a fridge and sink separate from the bathroom sink. Ski storage is built in. Our biggest complaint is the space on one side of each of the two beds. The giant closet between the beds limits the space on the outside, making it difficult for one partner to get into bed. Other reviews comment on the paper-thin walls, but we did not have a problem with this. We did hear a muffled phone conversation from one of our neighbors, but I think that had more to do with the door between the rooms than the wall itself. We did not have any problem with partying going on. Internet access is free and we did not encounter any problems with slow-down, being bumped off, etc. It worked quite well. I only wish there had been a desk to work at, but I guess that most skiiers are not concerned with this. Hot water does take a while to arrive, I would assume because the boiler is elsewhere. The heated pool is really nice, as is the hot tub. Neither were crowded. They are open between 3pm and 9pm. All in all, this was an excellent choice for us, and we got a discount for staying 3 nights. Even without that, it is reasonably priced for a close-in hotel in the high season for skiing.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

We arrived at night, and had never been to Snowmass Village before. It was difficult enough to locate the hotel (no large signs), but check-in was next door. Drive down Daly Lane all the way to the end and park in one of the two slots there at the Chalet. Check-in is just inside.

Very Nice! Totally what we expected!

A bit outdated. This Inn was very affordable and clean! The hotel staff was very friendly! Free shuttle to and from the airport. Very convenient to stores, restaurants and ski lifts. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi was very clean! If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton, then get out your checkbook! A microwave in the room would have been helpful, if you are trying to ski on somewhat of a budget. Otherwise, it suited our needs. I would stay there again!

Best Place For The Cost...

Seeing other places in the area are way overpriced, this place was a place to shower and lay your head! Walls are paper thin and heard everything around us! Great location, will stay there again, just will bring ear plugs!!!

They definitely tried

Aside from the dude who picked us up from the airport (who had a whiny demeanor as if annoyed he had to do an airport pickup, his only job) the service was pretty good. You could tell the manager really wanted to provide good service... However, the bottom line is, this place is just a dump. It's a great location right next to the mall and the slopes in Snowmass Village, but just remember, it's cheap, it's old, smelly, run down. FYI get a room on the top floor, if you have people above you... you'll never sleep. The stomping is unreal.

For breakfast in the village, skip the overhyped "fuel" and go to the little dill for high quality breakfast burritos. Also.. there is NO good coffee in all of snowmass village. FYI. It's all super weak.

The floor is made of wood, you can hear everything, the noise is so annoying ... You can hear what the another room is talking or what movies they are watching ... Horrible!

Great location, good value

Great location, easy walk to slopes. Good continental breakfast. Large outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Good sized rooms, comfortable beds, in room coffee maker and refrigerator. Very reasonable prices to be in Snowmass Village right next to transportation center for Snowmass Village and for trips into Aspen.

Avoid like the plague

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The price was high, but was the lowest I could find in Snowmass. The rooms had carpet in the bathroom. How DISGUSTING! The maid staff failed to leave fresh soap and shampoo 2 days in a row. The "continental breakfast" that is touted by the hotel was useless. It consisted of canned fruit, english muffins and breads, cold cereal of limited selection, and instant oatmeal. Carb heavy. Real healthy. The beds were probably 20 years old, as were the pillows, and gave me the creeps to use. I will never return to the Snowmass Inn. I wish the previous comments had warned me of all of this.....
