Pokolodi Lodge

I have stayed at the Pokolodi Lodge in Snowmass CO for 10 years and want to extol the virtues of its location, its value for the dollar and its staff; particularly its staff. The Pokolodi is located about 300 feet from the slopes and an easy cruise down to the main lift. It is across and up an elevator from bus transport everywhere in the area including the other three Aspen-Snowmass resorts. Further, it has numerous restaurants and shops also within 350 feet. Its value is exceptional as its accommodations are wonderful and its prices surprisingly moderate for its location. The best part of staying here is the responsiveness of the staff. For example, they always have my bed board in place before my arrival, store my bags delivered by FedEx and place them in my room and are near instantly available to address any issue. The one thing that stood out the most, however, was yesterday when I had a crisis related to a closing and had to get a notarized document to my settlement attorney in Alexandria VA the next morning. I learned of this at 2:15 pm. The manager personally printed the document, had me shuttled to the notary and then again to the FedEx office at the Airport. We beat the deadline there by 12 minutes. This, however, may not have been noteworthy except for the fact that they were overwhelmed by arrivals and departures that were bunched together because of the airline disruptions nation wide caused by the weather. This Lodge was amazing.... I couldn`t believe when we arrived.... so close to the montains and walking distance to the lifts. Amazing view, very good room and with breakfast included ( although it`s not that special, but helps!) I want to come back here one day!

The hotel is located very close to the convention center and the mall. The swimming pool and hot tub are also close to the rooms. The continental breakfast was satisfactory, but nothing special. The rooms do not have air conditioning and were too warm for good sleeping until late in the evening when the mountain breezes cooled the room. All in all, this hotel is a good value for the money.

We relaxed by and in the pool and jacuzzi and enjoyed the wonderful views.

We hiked while staying at the lodge which was amazing! We also went to downtown Aspen and did the tour de' Aspen. The bars were awesome and we all had a great time! The continental breakfast was a plus.

Clean, good location, nice view, friendly stuff and people.

This is the best place in Snowmass. Just few meters from slopes, mall, and shuttles.

Had to be in Aspen Dec 28 and 29 2011 for business and as a last minute booking. It was far more expensive to stay closer to town than SnowMass, so I booked in SnowMass. In SnowMass there are a variety of lodging options and the most affordable was the Pokolodi Lodge. Door to door from Aspen airport to the lodge was 16 minutes. I was expecting a dive, but it was not...in fact it was the most surprising hotel stay for a 2 star rating I've ever experienced. The hotel is really nothing special to look at from the outside but it was obvious to me that they had done remodeling on the rooms including upgrading the bathrooms (in fact everything in the whole room was recently redone except for the bathroom door and the door jam). I had one of the few King Beds at the place and it also came with a pull out sofa which I didn't need. My room, 303, overlooked the heated pool and hot tub which looked inviting and had people in it despite the 24 degree weather outside. The staff was amazingly pleasant and helpful, and the lodge is literally across the street from the restaurants and shops in SnowMass. My only word of caution is that if you arrive after 11:00 pm, the office is shut down. YOU MUST CALL beforehand to make arrangements to get your keys if you will be arriving after 11:00 (unless you feel compelled to sleep in your car). They also serve a complementary continental breakfast every morning, which was solid, but not something you'll write home about. Overall, I'd say it was a great stay. I have to go back in February and I'm not even going to try and stay in Aspen.

Good location for visiting the Snowmass area. About 20 minutes from Aspen.
