family stay for a weekend trip, 6 people and a baby fit into a single suite. Only one bathroom, made things cramped. A lot of neat history and old photos through out the hotel.

not bad

We just spent a weekend at the Hotel Denver in Glenwood Springs. Over all, not too bad. The hotel is very old and rooms are small. We booked the family suite with two bedrooms and living area and they did not have the room available on the day we were checking in. But they were offered a quick solution by giving us two rooms next to each other, and since one of the rooms had what we were looking for (microwaive and fridge) it was not too bad, with this we got an extra bathroom.

You will love the location. It's 5 min. walking from hot springs, same distance to the Adventure Amusement park with the cave tours, coster and laser tag. Kids will like it a lot, 15 min to the ski resort (rental place is across the street from the hotel).

Sand Paper for Toilet Paper

I read lots of reviews before booking this hotel. However I was not prepared for toilet paper that I could have sanded the paint off the walls with. Porta-Potties have better quality TP. There are 2 beverage dispensers in the hotel, 1 didn't work and the other was empty. Neither of us slept a minute with the traffic on the highway. Uggh.

Gorgeous setting

We expected the hotel to have a lot of history and from a distant era...that is exactly what it was. Such a lovely old hotel in a beautiful place in a small western town.

A great place to stay for us historians

For a historian like me, staying at a place where there is a lot of history is really special. I try to get a feel for how things were when Mrs. JJ Brown (she never went by Molly) stayed there. Walking through the halls was very interesting. I'd like to see more people help with the restoration that might be still needed with the ceilings. Many older buildings have tin ceiling tiles. I think I got a good idea because our room was cold when we arrived, we had to change rooms and the staff didn't have time to warm it up. It was steaming by morning. The flies were a problem so it would be nice if some fixed the screens on the windows. We had one bug in the bathroom that we were afraid to touch. The staff though, was really nice every time we called. Abraham was very helpful when we checked and made me feel very special for my birthday. The Legends cafe was great! Great value for great coffee-the only one around that we could see. Affordable Teddy Bears.Baron's Restaurant has the best food and the staff is very accommodating. I loved taking pictures of the hotel so I could get a feel of what life might have been like. I hope it will help me with my writing.I loved taking pictures of the hotel so I could get a feel of what life might have been like. I have never been to a mineral springs before and with my fibromyalgia, I would recommend two days in the hot springs! Why can't other businesses with pools in Colorado understand that the sun does NOT warm up the water! I have never found a decent pool for over ten years here. THIS pool and the staff are great. They do need to flex their authority and keep pranksters from throwing things.

Old and shabby rooms

I was in town on business. The hotel is very old and historic, but almost creepy. Perfect set for a horror movie. Bed was OK, linens were thin. Room was clean but not in great repair. I couldn't make the TV work and the front desk person said she didn't know how to fix it and the mechanic wouldn't be in until 8am the next morning. No hairdryer in the room--had to go downstairs becasue there was only one desk clerk and he couldn't leave the front desk. And the rates are not cheap. On the positive side, it is well located, and the common areas and particulalry outside gardens were lovely. The restaurant was good for dinner.
