Historic

If you like historic places to stay this is a great place. Just remover historic means you probably don't get air conditioning and the latest aminities. But it is very quaint and a very relaxing atmosphere.

Girl's weekend

First off, myself and 5 of my girlfriends from Junior High picked this hotel because of the location, which was fantastic. You could walk to everything. The building is very nice and the courtyard is amazing. We spent a good part of our time out there because it is so pretty. (and the hotel bar was nice) I was hoping the no air conditioning wouldn't be a factor, but unfortunately, it was. We did request an extra fan, and it was brought to us immediately. Also, for a family room that sleeps 6, we only had one tiny trash can and 2 wash cloths. Overall, if you aren't staying here in July or August, you'll probably be fine with no air conditioning.

Enjoy your late night wedding reception

I was here for a night after traveling by train for awhile. Not exactly an ideal nights sleep because of the wedding reception they were having (Drinking/Yelling past 12am). The hotel was fine. It's across the bridge from most of the restaurants, which is fine. The springs is right in front of the hotel, which is nice. Overall, if I could get a room for 70 dollars, I'd book it. But anything near $100 and I would look elsewhere. Bytheway, there's an amusement park up on the mountain in this town. It's a tourist trap. Don't waste your money. If you do, use groupon (usually 2 for 1).

Quick couples getaway

Nice old hotel. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Beautiful courtyard. Restaurant had excellent food. Located close to downtown making it easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The beds were a little old and worn out, not very comfy. The bartender on the patio was rude to her coworkers and threatened to leave several times. Very unprofessional.

Invigorating 1-night getaway

I booked one night on a whim because my sister was visiting from Austin, and I wanted her to see a different part of Colorado. We did a two-day tour of Independence Pass, Aspen, the Maroon Bells and Glenwood Springs. I had stayed at Hotel Colorado many years ago, but was even more impressed this time. The Hotel Colorado exudes that wonderful nostalgic Western spirit you feel like you are going back in time. The hotel was clean, beautiful, airy and I was especially impressed with the front courtyard which has been transformed into an inviting garden with comfy chairs, tables, a bar, and fire pits. I love the convenience of the hotel, as we were able to walk to town for some great meals and enjoy the hot springs. My only regret was that we didn't have more down time to relax. I am definitely planning a late summer or fall trip for 2-3 nights with my husband and teenage daughter, so we can enjoy more of the amenities at the hotel and explore additional nearby attractions and activities.

Family trip

The hotel did not have air conditioning and it was 90+ degrees for a few days, made the room very hot, even with ceiling fan and fan in the window. Hotel was old and very beautiful, but the carpet a bit bare. Courtyard spectacular, food a bit above average. Easy to walk to the stores, shops and hot springs from the location.

Disappointing

We were in the middle of a heat wave and without air conditioning, the room was uncomfortable. Since we had the window open, we couldn't pull the drapes, so a building light shone into our room all night. Complimentary coffee would have been appreciated. Dinner was only offered outside and the jazz band was sub par. Thank goodness they ended and we could enjoy the water sounds from the fountain and the peaceful surroundings of the courtyard.
