Convenient and Accommodating
This was the second time we stayed at the Genwood Motor Lodge. As before, they welcomed us at our late arrival hour. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were able to enjoy the Hot Springs Pool both Friday evening and Saturday morning, though there were no discounts offered. While not complicated, the complimentary continental breakfast was ready and waiting and offered basic food fare to launch an active day. We had sought accommodations that would offer a night's sleep. We were able to register, move into our room and enjoy the town on top of that!

Typical motel room, good location
It's a typical motel room. Good price and good location (close to the hot springs pool). We figured we would be spending most of our time at the pool that night so it didn't make sense to splurge at an expensive hotel.

Nice location but poor service
Unfriendly staff at the front desk: did not even say hi at check-in. The continental breakfast they provide is a joke. When we arrived at 9 am, the young lady at the front desk was so busy changing channels on TV with her feet on the desk that she had not noticed that there was absolutely NOTHING left: no coffee, no bagels, no cheese, no orange juice, no pastries, just nothing. Then it took her 10 minutes to make more coffee and bring everything out from the room behind and we had to ask again for the orange juice she had still forgotten to refill. Worst staff ever.

Not a 3-Star Motel
This place was advertised as a 3-star motel, but it was small, dark, and dingy. I couldn't wait to leave.

Meh.
The room set up was weird. The t.v. in its hutch blocked the air conditioning unit and the room never really cooled off. The wifi set up wasn't explained at check in, but I was able to use the signal from the hotel next door. The first night at the motel was very, very noise due to a mariachi band that was staying below and next to my room. The room smelled like pot, from what I assume was the group next door and below as well. Once they left for their gig it was fine, but when they returned at 3:00AM - all hell broke loose! Yelling, screaming, running up and down the stairs. Ugh! The second night was much quieter however.

Exceptional
This is a fantastic Motel in the heart of downtown within easy walking distance of the Hot Springs, dining and shopping. The Motel has been family run for twenty years and it shows in the attention to the important things for a stay. Exceptionally clean and spacious rooms, comfortable bed and clean fresh smelling bed linen. Room has wi-fi, fridge, micro - everthing you need on a budget or for convenience. All of this is provided with a fair breakfast and wonderful friendly service. Yes this is an old style motel but it has been looked after and the retained charm and location make it unique for just that. I highly recommend it.

A very basic stay.
This is one of the most affordable motels in Glenwood Springs, so don't expect too much. It is very basic, but it is comfortable, and it is walking distance from both the Hot Springs Pool, and the Adventure Park. The rooms do come with refrigerators and microwave ovens, but they don't have hair dryers and coffee makers. High speed internet access comes with the room. For a good, quick, and inexpensive meal, the Qdoba behind the motel is the best I have ever eaten at.

Short walk from hotel
Some sites say the Hot Springs Pool is "two blocks away." That is false. It is closer to four blocks, but the walk is OK. Just do not try to cross the street at the first intersection. It is dangerous. Instead, keep walking up the block to the corner where the Hotel Colorado is and you will find negotiating the traffic much more safe and easy. Also, take the short walk north to the Tram up Iron Mountain. The view is worth the price. You can get half price discount tickets at the Visitor's Center just west of Grand Avenue on 8th.
