Pretty average, but comfortable enough
This place is pleasant and the staff are friendly. It could do with a bit of refurbishing, but it's generally OK. My room looked out at some pine trees, and there's a pretty impressive view of Long's Peak from the rooms on the front of the hotel.

Ed's Cantina does good buffalo quesadillas. Don't go to Grubsteak, the food is not that great, and it's expensive. Service is not very good.

Perfect 2 Star
I am a retired American Airlines pilot. This hotel is the perfect 2 star. You get what you pay for so don't expect breakfast in bed. It is on the outskirts of town but I knew that when I reserved this room. The staff was awesome; lovely people. Most importantly for me, it is quiet.

Adequate for the budget constrained.
Pros: Cheap price, located within minutes of the park entrance. Reasonably though not exceptionally clean. Cons: Mattresses not very firm, able to hear conversations from other rooms via drop ceilings in bathrooms.

Short walk from hotel
The Chophouse restaurant across the street had some serious plumbing odor issues when we were there 9/12/11. Three star fare at four star prices. I would avoid it.

Just what we needed for one night!
The hotel is not classy by any means, but it worked perfectly as a one night stay before my group embarked on a one week backpacking trip in Estes Park. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable enough for my group. The ceiling in the shower and shower head were pretty low, at 5'7'' I had to bend down a little to get under the shower head. But like I said, it was just what we needed for a one night stay. The value was great. We were able to cross the street (wish there was a crosswalk) to eat at a decent Mexican restaurant called the Grumpy Gringo and to a great liquor store called Rambo's. Safeway grocery store was nearby, but we had to drive a short ways - not walking distance. The main "downtown" area of Estes Park where the shops are is also not within walking distance, you have to drive, but we weren't interested in that area anyway. There was no one at the desk when we were leaving. The room was already paid for so I didn't really need to check out, but it would have been nice if someone was at the desk to leave the keys with. Staff was not bad, just not very friendly. I would stay there again.

Grumpy Gringo (Mexican Restaurant) had pretty good margaritas! Coming from Arizona, the food could have been better.

Had a wedding to go too
My friend & I were in Estes Park for a wedding & needed a place to stay for the night. The hotel is a little on the older side but it was clean & safe. Close to the center of town & easy to find. The staff was friendly & the breakfast was nice. I would stay there again.

Bad Experience at Rodeway Inn
Was not happy with the location and proximity to downtown. Bathroom was dirty. Daughter had a lightweight jacket stolen from her luggage. This is the first review I've ever posted on a hotel stay, but I felt compelled. We enjoyed our time in the area however and Jackson WY.

perfect for families
The rooms are simple and quaint. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fairly quiet great views. Nice family room . My only complaint really is hot tub needs cleaning more often. We have stayed at many hotels in Estes and we always come back to this one.

Not the best
The location was good, just minuets from the Park and town. The breakfast was good. That was about the only thing that was good. This was a hotel that you felt like you had to wear you socks or shoes around the room. The outside needed some repair. We stayed on the second floor and it was like going through a maze to the eating area. I would not stay here again. Pay the extra money and stay at a better hotel trust me you will be glad you did.

Nice Last Minute Choice
Purchased room day of travel and this was a nice place with good value. I would recommend it but the mattress was poor even for two smaller people.
