Yuck!
Room was dirty, carpet crunchy, dirt IN the bed, smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a "non-smoking" room and I even had to sign something saying I would not smoke in it (like that could make it any worse), ancient tv set, skimpy furniture looked like stuff salvation army would not even take, homeless-looking illegal immigrants sitting in front of each motel room door smoking and drinking....... I wish I payed an extra ten bucks to stay somewhere else.

Old motel, nothing fancy, musty smell, OK just for sleeping but not hanging out. Not worth the price but we were stuck for a place on a sold out weekend.

Unhappy In Estes Park
Disappointed!
We checked in late, close to 10:00 pm when the office closes. When we entered our room, we noticed food crumbs all over the floor. There was a piece of chewed bubble gum on the radiator. The room hadn't been vacuumed from the previous occupant. The next morning, we asked to have our room vacuumed and explained it was unclean when we arrived. The front office assured us that it would be taken care of. We set off for the entire day and got back around 9:00 pm. The room hadn't been vacuumed. My husband brought the girl from the front office to show her. She said, not sure what I can do about it now. My husband said how about getting a vacuum? She went off and got one and vacuumed the entire room. The gum was still there. The shower has two handles for the water, hot and cold. Not matter what you did, the water temp would change unexpectedly and you had to jump out or step to the side to avoid getting scalded. No clock in room and overall, not happy with the experienece.

Not Clean
It is one thing for the motel to be dated, but we expect the room to be be clean. We would not stay here again, even at half the price of the better hotels.

Avoid Four Winds in Estes Park, CO!!
The owner(?) was concerned first with greed, not greet; second, he had no idea that I had requested, and Orbitz assured that I had, a disability-equipped room; there are none there and the owner did not seem to know what they were--he suggested I "just sit down and take a bath" (I can't!); the room was not clean, old but with just a fresh coat of paint to make up for it; the list goes on. I will say that the maid service was good; though I would hate to have to work with the person I presumed is the owner. I suggest that even if every other hotel/motel in town is full (as they were for us), you do NOT stay at Four Winds, Estes Park, CO. We moved out for the final night's stay and went to the Stanley Hotel, expensive, but historic--highly recommended!
