Great value for the money

This is a newly remodeled hotel. It is clean - the rugs feel new - and it is well designed. Bathroom gives luxurious counter space. The mattresses are memory foam and comfortable if you like that. Foam cannot be described as "firm." There is a decent breakfast (if you like carbs) and there is yogurt (sweetened). Plenty of coffee. Overall, this is worth the money - I've paid more for half of what's here!

Chillin' in Durango

Nice place with a friendly staff. The room was roasting hot when I got there though, and I had to open the door in the winter to let it cool down. Durango Brewing Company was right next door, which was nice!

Cold, uncomfortable, unfriendly!

My wife and two daughters stayed there last night, and it was a terrible experience. The temperature in Durango fell to something like -2°F and the AC in the room wasn't working. Even if turned up full-blast (see photo) it remained below 60°F in the room. To top this, there was only a top sheet and flimsy blanket on the beds (see photo), no comforters. The front-desk was unable/unwilling to provide more blankets or help with the AC, so my wife had to get blankets from the car and sleep with their sweaters, since it was dark and too late to move hotels. BTW the AC in the bathroom was worse, and it was so cold in there, my wife refused to take a shower...

Fall Getaway

Room was definitely dated. Could use some paint, and general fixup. Restroom was too small. Overall, a decent room, but over priced for what we got.

Family Function (Ft. Lewis College)

The good points were - the staff was very good, breakfast was good, the location to our activities was good, the room was clean but small, rug could use cleaning. Did not smell smoke in room or outside. The bad points were - the hallways were very dirty, we were put in the basement (think this was because we went thru an online booking agent)

Well . . .

Since the room was reserved several weeks in advance, we were disappointed to be put in the overflow area which we called "the basement." It was below ground level and at the end of a long hall. There were very few guests when we checked in, so there were other rooms available. However, we had paid for five nights in advance with no refund, so we had no recourse. The morning guy offered to give us another room, but we were always out for the day when other rooms were available. The room itself, although small, was not bad. It had very few outlets, so it was on the dark side but could easily be corrected with a strip and another lamp. The waffles for breakfast were good, It is located near a laundromat, grocery store, drug store, fast food, a good Mexican restaurant, and rafting and activities vendor. Would recommend to a friend with certain warnings about how you might be taken advantage of if you prepay.

Comfy in Durango

Checking in was easy and we felt welcomed. Desk clerk was very polite and assisted in finding a place for dining. Only negative thing was lack of parking for all guests.

Check the Red Snapper for dining. Very good food and service is excellent. One of the few fine dining restaurants that still offers a well-stocked salad bar. Try the shrimp pasta or salmon....very good.

Just OK

Hotel was old but OK and the room was clean except for the old carpet that really needs cleaning. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is outside of downtown by about three miles.
