Big Disappointment!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BOOK

My husband and I travel quite frequently and this hotel was the biggest disappointment we ever experienced. They advertised an indoor pool and jacuzzi which were both not available because the roof had collapsed from the snow the prior winter. They said that they stated that on their website[...]That was the smallest problem!! There was a 4 inch diameter hole in the wall by the bathroom sink, and dead bugs stuck all over the bathroom wall by the light fixture. The matresses on the beds were so old there were springs sticking up, and the "Continental Breakfast" consisted of stale bagels and cold cereal. I would expect this at a hotel that charged $60.00 a night, but this one charged more than twice that amount. We had no other choice but to stay there as there were no other rooms available on Labor Day Weekend. This hotel was probably nice in its day, but it is obvious that the owner doesn't care and just keeps letting it get more and more run down.

The location was good, nice view. The pool and hot tub were closed. It's older but clean. Could use a little tlc. Breakfast ended at 9:00am, a little early.

Awful!!!!!!!!!

We arrived late at night so didn't notice the outward appearance of the hotel. Our room had mold in the bathroom and I could only find one smoke/fire detector in the upstairs room only. I never saw a red light so I don't even think it was working. There were doors to make an adjoining suite but they didn't fit tight so anytime anyone went up or down the stairs (which they did until sometime after 3:00am) the door rattled. We wore socks or shoes at all times and the socks were black from walking on the room carpet. When we woke up the next morning, we realized that the pool was fenced off and that most of the lobby building had caved in and was also fenced off. This was never disclosed to us when we made the reservation. If it would have, I never would have stayed here. The continental breakfast was cold muffins, cold bagels, juice or coffee and fruit loops. My husband put cream in the coffee and it curdled. That's when we left and paid to eat elsewhere. I was then overcharged but after a "friendly" conversation with the clerks, was given a partial refund.

Great Experience!

I went with my (opposite sex) best friend and we were able to keep our privacy with the bi-level rooms. The bathroom area was kind of small, but it's not something that was worth complaining about - same with the pool being closed. They had cable TV and we were always able to find something to watch during down time. They also had a fireplace, fridge, and microwave. It was nice being able to eat our left overs the next day. Everyone in Durango is EXTREMELY friendly. It was always an enjoyable experience as a kid, and it's nice to know things are still the same as an adult.

Some places I would recommend would be Purgatory, Honeyville, and the Pagosa Hot Springs (about 45 minutes outside of Durango).

good place except it was not!

Nice location in a scenic location. However, the room had a musty smell, the carpet was dirty and ripped. The bed spread did not smell good and had holes in it. The TV schedule that was provide for the room did not match the actual TV channels on the TV. The continental breakfast was lacking. The orange jucice dispenser dispensed water, not juice! I planned on staying 3 nights, only stayed one!

Nice hotel for the family

Nice hotel, very nice rooms, comfortable and very quiet, Was about 5 miles from town, but there is a free trolley to the downtown area that runs every 30 minutes. 2 level suite good for kids. Great staff, breakfast was basic. and there is no internet in the room, just in the dining room ... a bit overpriced for as compared to downtown hotels you do not have to commit to on the net, about half the price,
