Best in Durango
It's at the outer edge of Durango on the North End of town and it is excellent. We have two daughters going to Ft Lewis college so we've been to Durango many times and have tried most hotels/motels; the Best Western Durango had been the best so far, until we accidentally booked at the Hampton Inn for two days. Clean, huge, comfortable rooms, superbly comfortable beds, accommodating staff, excellent breakfast, the best we've experienced in Durango at any price. This is where we will stay in the future!

Ore House is one of the best steakhouses in the country, much less Durango. And do not miss the "Durango Diner" for breakfast.. a real diner with the hustle and bustle and diner atmosphere you should not miss!

Won't stay again
I booked a room with two queens and when we checked into our room found two doubles. When I tried to change my room I was told they don't have any queen beds in the motel. It was late in the day and we had an early flight out in the morning. They told us at the front desk that the continental breakfast started at 6 a.m. but we had to leave at 5 a.m. to catch our flight. They told us they would pack a small breakfast (fruit, yogurt, etc.) to take with us in the morning since we were leaving before breakfast started. Since it was late and they were going to still get us a breakfast we decided to stay and not look for another motel. In the morining I was told by the man at the front desk they only will pack breakfast during the week for their guests and therefore would not pack anything for my wife or our two boys who are 11 and 6 years old. The staff did not seem to care about us, or our stay at the motel at all. Motel seemed nice and clean with, what looked like, a nice pool but because of the service for the price, we will not stay here again.

Take the trolley it's close to the hotel and it's free. Plus, it gets you to the downtown area with in minutes and you don't have to worry about parking.

Would definitely stay in again
Between Durango Mtn. and town the hotel location was great. The walls were a little thin. I'm used to a king sized bed so sharing a full size bed was annoying but comfortable if you like soft. The staff was very accomodating. The hotel and rooms were very clean and organized well.

Nice location
Nice clean and friendly staff, but cable did not work. My son could not play games or watch movies. Took them most of the night to fix the problem.

Weekend Getaway
Went to Durango for the weekend to take the train trip to Silverton. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room was okay but was diappointed by the lack of counter space in the bathroom. Maybe adding more shelves will help.

If you like historical attractions, don't miss Mesa Verde National Park. There are lots of ruins to check out and a decent welcome center. And don't forget your camera!
