The Travelodge Durango offers a lodge atmosphere in a great location. The hotel is located on the Animas River, and offers guests Free Continental Breakfast, Free High Speed Wireless Access, plus all amenities offered by Travelodge. Room types offered are Standard Rooms, Suites, and Rooms with Balconies. All rooms non-smoking. Guests enjoy a choice of many fine restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Not so nice

This room was dated, the exterior was dirty, there was an old dirty plastic lawn chair sitting in front of the room next to the door.

Faces Main, not Animas river

Property is on Hwy 550/Main Ave, not the Animas River (which is behind the motel past one street and not visible.

...not so hot.

Thin walls, could hear neighbors up-stairs as well as next door. Entire property in need of updating, inside and out. Desk clerk attitude so, so, and portrayed he didn't really care.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Mesa Verde Ruins. A must see. Plan to spend the better part of the day for full value. Bring water and snacks.

Stay anywhere else

The carpet was filthy, and the only chair had a stain on it that I wouldn't consider touching, let alone sitting on. The other furniture was chipped and scratched and the beds uncomfortable. After trying for at least five minutes to get the card lock to work (in the rain) and running back to the desk clerk, she said when it rains the doors swell and you have to pull it toward you before you try the card. Wouldn't that have been good to know before we got drenched? I love Durango and will go back but will never stay here again. At half the price, the room would not have been a bargain.

Outdated facility

The Travelodge was located on the main street in Durango which was the biggest plus. Other than that the facility was very outdated and needs remodeling. The room was not very comfortable as the room was not very clean. The staff was very helpful and informative.

Refurbishing

This Travelodge did not live up to my earlier experiences in other Travelodges. I understand that they are doing a lot of work but their rates did not reflect the poor appearance and the lack of cleanliness. The bathroom was especiall dirty in the corners, the window sill over the tub, the bedspread was especially dirty as were the drapes. The staff was very cordial, however, and brought to the room a remote control for the tv since there was not one there originally. The location was excellent. The breakfast was fine and the lobby was clean.

There were three options a very short walk from the hotel- and I was on crutches - three choices, Italian, American, and Chinese

Durango Travel

It was an inexpensive place to sleep. I would stay there again. It was just what I needed a place to sleep and in a good location.
