Great location, great stay

The downside is the overall "look" of the interior as it looks dated. However, the rooms have been upgraded and the bed is rediculously comfortable. Excellent food, nice gym with newer equipment, helpful staff, and even has a river view. Perfect location within walking distance to Main street for easy dining, shopping, etc. Definitely the best place to stay in Durango.

Great stay

Could have stayed in one of the historic downtown hotels but I prefer the doubletree because I know I can count on a clean room and comfortable bed. This doubletree did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was good... Just had to cross the street and you're in the main downtown area.

Best combination of desirable freatures

This was third visit to this hotel and it consistently meets expectations. The location offers great access to main street Durango, DSNG railroad, miles of paved walking.biking tail, and direct access to main crossroads in all four directions. Staff are friendly, courteous, and accommodating and amenities are exceptional. One minor downside is lack of refrigerators in some rooms.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

DSNGR trains return approximately 6:00 to 6:30 pm each evening. Arrive before 7:00 pm to get good seating without waiting at popular restaurants and bars.

The Doubletree offers great amenities!

The service was great; the room was huge but had a comfortable feel; nothing was lacking! Close to downtown -- can walk to many different restaurants on Main Street!

The hotel offers a restaurant, but if you want to explore, a short jaunt up one street and a left turn on Main Street yields several different venues and menus.
